How is an old woman as young, fertile and physically attractive as a young one? I may not be intellectual enough to get it. Im not getting arounsed by my wife anymore. Now I feel even more guilty for this. I just wish to have a fullfilling sex life and all I can see is younger woman.

This is true, but there are differences, and thus denying that is delusional. If a large muscular man wants his wife to physically dominate him but she’s a wee thing, she can’t just be a larger woman with more strength.

See what it means undefiled bed. Hebrews 13 Marriage is to be held in honor among all, and the marriage bed is to be undefiled, for the sexually immoral and adulterers God will judge. 5 Make sure that your way of life is free from the love of money, being content with what you have; for He Himself has said, “I will never desert you, nor will I ever forsake you,” Including Mathew 5: 28 28 But I say unto you, that whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.

I don't understand or even imagine how anyone in a relationship, yet, can still fantasize or think about another person. It's even worse when the relationship is marriage. How is it easy for anyone to do that without feeling any guilt or conscious pains. It's horrifying to think that those people actually do exist. I can't listen more to this interview, it disturbed me.

Well, I guess it only stands to reason that consciousness experts would make the best romantic partners. I mean, romantic love is about engaging and sharing all your senses so it makes perfect... sense… This is the point where humans can go profoundly right or profoundly wrong because scripture tells us - its just like God to define it so - monogamy is the best way as anything else degrades the beauty of sharing all of one’s senses with another and corrupts the experience into a sin of sensuality. Sexual immorality opens you up to everything that other person you sleep with is also open to - and God only knows what doors they have open! - the conscience is certainly affected negatively here. The senses apparently are so important to keeping the conscience clear that there is only one other person, preferable even by God, that we should ever open all of our senses to, that one being our covenantal spouse. Pretty amazing God, I would say🔥 Jesus was the greatest romantic of all, He IS the Song of all songs! He’s peering through the lattice of our hearts and here we are tucked away in our beds sleeping, waiting for him to come to us, enduring the suffering, and he shows up drenched with the night, longing to be let in to our hearts, to open the door of our hearts (our consciousness perhaps?) to him. But instead, we dither about thinking through everything and finally when we excitedly make it to the door to open to his knocking, he’s gone! We run after him out into the streets bearing the ridicule, being mercilessly persecuted yet he’s run away and hidden himself from us, desperate as we are. But He understands the human creation He has made in His image:) Thank God at some point there’s a tale of strong towers, gazelles, raisin cakes and spices! But let’s not get too into the Master of our senses in a YouTube channel commentary section, ha. One last thought I will share, though not in plain speak, there’s a world of difference in setting a fire in a fireplace with carefully hewn logs and a finite span of fuel, and setting the same fire in a forest of trees. Please think carefully about this. Thanks for this amazing conversation. I have Tor's book though it's intimidating - I'm pretty sure I don't have the education level to fully understand it~

My middle aged friend seems to be so depressed and hopeless he talked about why so many men who feel left behind by society and they responded by suicide. He said he is not suicidal but I can tell he's down that path. Anyone have a good video or similar from Jordan or others that can at least push some optimism into him? I tried to get him to go to church but he's not there yet. He needs an intellectual person who can steer his thoughts elsewhere.

I have been reading Lewis, as well as I can with my attention span destroyed by constant vigilance over my children, and the conversation here about the ways in which we substitute our nearest and dearest for our mere ideas of them called to mind a passage from Lewis I memorized to keep it with me always: “All reality is iconoclastic. The earthly beloved constantly triumphs over your mere idea of her. And you want her to; you want her with all her resistances, all her unexpectedness, all her faults. In other words, in all her foursquare and independent reality. And this, and not an image or an idea, is what we are to love still, after she is dead.” That’s from what is arguably the greatest treatise on marriage and love and grief in the English language, “A Grief Observed.” Dearest Dr. Peterson, I was thinking that perhaps “A Grief Observed” might be an ideal entry point to C. S. Lewis for you. In that short work, Lewis wrestled with God, the God for whom he was such a sublime apologist, and did not let go until God blessed him. I think that your great intellect would meet Lewis’s, and your great heart would meet Lewis’s, and you would find him a kindred spirit, a fellow melancholy pilgrim. Like Jacob at the end of his life, C. S. Lewis “worshipped, leaning upon the top of his staff” (Hebrews 11), and so will you, and so will all who dare wrestle with God. With Ruth Anne’s love.
