*I took a year to understand what he is saying.* The reason that conversations make one compulsive is because when we speak something we get identified with our thought process. But the whole point of yoga and spritual processes is to make us realise that we are not our thought process and most of our thoughts happen by themselves and they are not our own making. It's like when some actors play a character in movies for too long they sometimes get partially identified with the character and have a hard time coming to their orignal personality , yes it's crazy but many actors have experienced that 😂. Similar when we speak we get identified with something which we are not. And when we get identified with our thought process, we also get identified with the compulsions of thought process.

This is very good advice. I'm sure it's not going to be easy for me... but many times in my life, difficult times have brought many blessings. I'm going to start and just shut up and watch what happens.

Very true. I've been silent for many months and now when I speak, I feel drained out and find it unnecessary. In silence, you learn to speak to nature. ❤

Because most of what people are trying to do, or achieve, comes out in conversations. This quietly rubs off onto us.

I try to explain this to my parents that I need not to speak most of the time cause it's just the way I am more prone to stay calm and functional if not sooner or later I will get furious or the better option for me is to stay alone but that implies there is no understanding for people like me, I mean it's quite common that people will misinterpret me even if I say it 1000 times. It feels like there is no connection in that sense.

It is absolutely true.Compulsiveness arises from repeated behaviors or thought patterns reinforced over time. Conversations play a pivotal role in this reinforcement process. Consider a scenario where an individual engages in conversations centered around materialism and consumerism. Through constant exposure to discussions glorifying possessions and wealth, the individual's perception of self-worth becomes intertwined with material possessions. This reinforcement can lead to compulsive spending habits as the individual seeks validation and fulfillment through acquisition.

I interpret it like this .. all my compulsive reactions are strong only bc i have a conversation with myself about it . Try to justify it within myself. By itself, on its own it doesn't have any power . But i have an internal conversation somehow i justify it and it gets all the power.
