The reason we are fine is the same reason we didn't scream in the streets when the guy who invented the first viable hydrogen powered combustion (style) engine disappeared, or why we are fine for unfettered predatory capitalism to ravage all beings, we accept continued use of plastic with no reperations from the companies profiteering from our destruction, the men responsible for global financial crash have received pay raises because the people impacted are homeless, jobless and hopeless. There are small pockets of resistance, but it's getting harder to gain traction on a collective level.
