Elliot Ness was a true idiot, he slid out of ridicule only because of earlier tax evasion charges agaisnt Al Capone was the reason he was imprisoned. Elliot Ness would never have any other formal law enforcement jobs would be available to him, and it was due to knowing he was an idiot.

That butcher case is so much scarier if you look into the PA swamp murders. It seems pretty obvious it was the same person because the MO is identical and this guy was known to operate on a train route attached to Cleveland, sometimes butchering Hobos on the train itself.

The main reason no one was caught was because elliot ness always told reports before the raid so they could gain fame so capone got tips off the reporters Just an interesting fact that shows how much fame can be gained over time just due to rumors

<<@bystanderbutch3509

Elliot Ness was not responsible for the downfall of the mob in Chicago. Simon Whistler put the fear of God in these gangsters. They knew Mr. Whistler was disappointed with their criminal behavior and the mob knew when Mr. Whistler was not happy with someone, the results could be catastrophic for them. They made sure the Untouchables reached them first, fearing the fact that Mr. Whistler could be on his way.
