I knew what it meant when I was about 7 years old! I used to build hobby circuits and work on many other scientific projects when I was a kid, and I still do to this day, only now, it's of course much more complex! Ionizing radiation or radioactivity is my favorite field of science and my favorite hobby! These scared, ignorant people are the same types of people that buy Geiger-Müller counters, and wonder why they never get any elevated readings from non-ionizing radiation sources! It's like buying a microphone so they can detect far-away planets! It doesn't make any sense! You'd think with the technology that many of us have at our fingertips would help people learn, yet the opposite is happening! That's why I love these videos! Thank you, Thunderf00t!
