But no protestant is well aware enough of the first 1000 years of the Church, they just focus on what happened at the reformation time which is an already schismatic period since the Roman Catholics went their way. You reformed from schismatics but you think you have the truth. I don't know if this is a wide confusion or a masterplan to hide the truth of Church history in plain sight by "attacking" the straw-man of Roman Catholic Church as the true church. Nothing good can come out of wrong and you guys disagree with those who already were in the wrong. People like Frank should focus more on history and less on interpreting the Bible since that's all that another million people in the protestant world do and noones does it better or deeper on the authoritative Spirit than the others in your point of view. I guess noone understands that the Apostles were teaching without a Bible at their disposal but from what they have experienced and this continued as Apostle John said 21:25 : "And there are also many things that Jesus did, which if they were written one by one, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that would be written. Amen." All these things were taught, explained, and interpreted to the people who were coming to the faith. The apostle Paul was taught everything by God Himself and taught people orally for three years in Ephesus and Galatia, things that the people who he passed the episcopacy, like Timothy, (2 Timothy 1:6 "Therefore i remind you to stir up the gift of God which is in you through the laying on my hands") had been obliged to keep as truth. The bible's canonization was done with the oral tradition as a foolproof indication, because the oral tradition that the apostles spread is a Bible alongside the written one and nothing in the written can contradict the tradition that has been passed down because the tradition came first. In 1 CORINTHIANS 12:12–27, St. Paul describes Christians as "members" of the Body of Christ. Death does not sever the connection: Christians believe that because Christ conquered death, those who die in Him remain part of His Body. ROMANS 8:38–39 states that neither "death nor life" can separate us from the love of God in Christ. Therefore, the "Saints in Heaven" and the "Saints on earth" remain one family. The Saints are Alive and Aware: Critics argue that the dead cannot hear us. However, Jesus taught that the departed are alive in God. LUKE 20:38: "NOW HE IS NOT GOD OF THE DEAD, BUT OF THE LIVING, for all live to him." So it is clear that the Saints are not dead but are more alive than we are as they are with God. So to claim that Catholics pray to the dead is false and ignores what is written in Sacred Scripture. HEBREWS 12:1: Describes the deceased faithful as a "great cloud of witnesses" surrounding us, suggesting they are aware of our journey on earth. REVELATION 5:8 and 8:3–4. These passages depict the Elders and Angels in Heaven offering up "the prayers of the Saints" to God in the form of incense. This shows that those in Heaven receive and present the petitions to God on behalf of those on earth. SUMMARY ▶️ Sacred Scripture explicitly commands us to pray for one another. ▶️ Scripture shows the Saints in Heaven offering up intercessions on our behalf before God. ▶️ It is God who decides the help He will provide to the living here on earth, not the Saints. The Roman Catholic Church had a mission to spread their message to as many people as possible and convert them. This only increased as the Spanish, Portuguese and other starting sailing ships capable of reaching far away lands. Asking saints to intercede for us is rooted in the belief that the Body of Christ extends beyond death, as stated in Romans 8:38-39. Saints are alive in heaven, aware of earthly concerns, and act as intercessors, bringing prayers before God. This practice aligns with biblical teaching, tradition, and the good fruits it bears. The bible is a Catholic book, written by Catholics for Catholics with inspiration from the Holy Spirit, and the Church has been PROPERLY interpreting it for over a thousand years BEFORE Protestants erroneously thought they were better qualified to interpret what the bible meant. It was never meant to be a Protestant sole-source catechism, which is a false man-made 16th century tradition. The bible says that Jesus promised the Holy Spirit would guide the Church He founded into ALL TRUTH (John 16:13). Jesus said if there were disputes in His Church to take it to the CHURCH (and NOT to argue over the meaning of verses in scripture). There was ONLY ONE CHURCH at the time and Jesus CLEARLY was not referring to schismatic Protestant churches 1500 years or more removed from His reality. No one says that a saint can atone for sins. They only say that you can ask them for help with your prayer request. If one is going to reject the option that it is possible to ask for intercession (not mediation) from the saints We have to show in scripture and in the testimonies and fruits from the people/saints that live an intense life with Christ that: 1. When you die you are dead dead and not with God 2. Why then God is called God of the living 3. How then Moses and Elijah appeared together with Jesus (transfiguration) 4. Why the rich man (story of Lazarus) asked Abraham to warn his brothers while they were all not in the realm of earth. Lets call it extra realm communication :D, even though Abraham rejected but not on because that it was impossible but because of Moses. 5. That God has not the ability to make communication from earth possible to the saints in heaven (also for angels) 6. Why, at least what I have read, in the Orthodox Church the so called saints have lived extraordinarily close with Christ and were surrounded by miracles of the level of the Apostles. Read those stories. But how can they carry so much fruit and die to their flesh so much and exalt Christ so much in their lives and still ask for intercession of the saints? 7. The body of Christ is the church but if one dies the person is still part of the body of Christ or is he or she cut off? And if you are still part of the body you must be alive and be able to work together and function as one body? Even though you are in a different realm? These are just questions I cannot refute myself solidly. There for, to be faithful to my intellect, I need to keep open the possibility that it is possible to ask intercession from saints. Read asking help from the saints praying to the Triune God. But maybe someone has solid answers to all these questions and I can take that into account on my search. Thanks in advance.>>
