As a result, a local funeral home in Denver, Olinger’s, kept his body on ice for several months until he could be buried. That same funeral home is now a restaurant. Also worthy of note, many believe Cody’s body was stolen and buried near Cody Wyoming, the town he helped found, and to this day there is a sort of (mostly lighthearted) contention between Golden CO and Cody WY about which location his body is buried in. But fun fact they all came from buffalo bill!!!!! Buffalo were nearly killed off by white settlers in Canada and America (as we all know). So major conservation efforts were made at the turn of the century to save the last remaining wild buffalo. Sadly a buffalo pandemic raged through alberta killing all the wild buffalo.
