<<@paja_elektro_it says : Video is cool ... , VIM1s will be great couple years back ... but these days ... 🙄. Thanks for super video ... 👍👍>> <<@andresfelipemorenofuentes3218 says : It sounds good, I think it will serve as a companion computer for drones, it is possible to implement code in python to send telemetry data by tcp and video by udp.?>> <<@lilomouradenilsonkaiowa5195 says : Thank you for the post BUT the music is awful, horrible, terrible, irritating, annoying. Please, use the silence instead.>> <<@niv8880 says : Here's a possibly stupid question, can I watch Amazon Prime on the Android platform? I only want an SBC to watch Prime but usually do stuff through Debian but the frame rate drop thing shown here doesn't appeal. Thanks>> <<@RonnieLee-px9kc says : If you only get 100 mbps that's weak it's junk. If you don't get at least 250 mbps internet speed it's not worth the money. 100 what a joke.>> <<@pleappleappleap says : It it compatible with HATs?>> <<@pleappleappleap says : Those boxes are much easier to open if you puncture the lid with a tiny pinhole to break the vacuum.>> <<@davidrice4269 says : Thanks for the channel and the information it contains. I find it informative and engaging. I have a question, but I'm not sure of the best place to ask it. How do I go about purchasing a touch-screen that is compatible with this SBC please?>> <<@onlybikelovers8171 says : I want to know that root pre installed in android os in this board???>> <<@kamertonaudiophileplayer847 says : Why nobody offers anything similar to Raspberry Pi by price? Maybe it is the reason that RPi is out of stock until 2024.>> <<@GroovingPict says : I honestly cant see what their target customer is for this, with no USB3 and a 100mbit ethernet, while still being 50% more expensive than a Raspberry Pi. It seems to me to fall between two chairs and will appeal to absolutely no one. Like, "do you want to buy the recognisable brand name SBC Raspberry Pi, which everybody knows and has confidence in, or do you want this competitor which not only costs 50% more, but has 20 year old connectivity technology". Absolutely mindboggling.>> <<@ПётрПроценко-б3к says : I place this kind of cardboard casket top cover up, take upper box with both hands and shake up-down as fast as I can, even if the contents of the casket is light in and of itsels, the bottom box has enough of cardboard mass to detach and fall down on the table with its content.>> <<@ChipGuy says : I like that it has USB on the 40 pin connector. But seem that a DSI connector for an internal display would also be good. Going to watch more videos.>> <<@terrorpup says : So, this needs a lighter OS than Ubuntu, I wish board makers would stop with Ubuntu/Wayland, that a lone was using half the memory and I didn't see any gains. I removed Wayland, and installed XFCE 4 and it running great, video is working. I will admin the Android seem to be good, but some apps don't work work correctly because it flips like it's a phone. So, I am not impress. I love to see Debian or Manjaro running on it, I bet will be better.>> <<@SFoX-On-Air says : Khadas is clinging to these 2GB RAM SBC. I will never understand why. Their marketing is puzzled between maker/smarthome-Stuff and "home server/media server"-things. For the Makerstuff I would NEVER buy a SBC this expensive cause a simple arduino does almost everything you need on that end. And with everything on the home/media-server end, you need two things that Khadas SBC lack: Fast I/O Connections and RAM.>> <<@raheemhashmi7229 says : oooooooo wow>> <<@johnmichaels4330 says : Seems like something more suited to industrial applications>> <<@techguy9023 says : Does anyone have a Pi 4 in stock?>> <<@iKRAMAbid says : at the end when you tried to be funny, it was not funny at all. i disliked,>> <<@thediscoman2001 says : when was last time u bough a rpi computer they are now over 100$ or more this board is just over 50$>> <<@michaelboyce3227 says : Pssssstttt... Chris! I know I'm 2 weeks late, so there's a good chance you won't see this.. but there's a small mistake (nothing that'll break Internet) right around 2:40 ish when comparing to RasPi 2gb. Now I realize it's not even possible to buy a RasPi4 @ msrp but if you could the 2gb RasPi4 is only $35... I'm sure you remember now them dropping the 1GB SKU and moving the 2GB down a price slot for their birthday! Once they're available again I believe it will make this VIM1s look a terrible value imo..>> <<@JoRoBoYo says : raspberry pi 4 is 100$ now,>> <<@dcc1165 says : The install progress bar is very Halloween-ish..."OOWOOOOOOOOO......". The BIOS must've been written by a werewolf during a full moon :)>> <<@ltlk937 says : These are not bad price wise either considering the Pi is WAY over priced right now.>> <<@alexd7466 says : Who needs usb3 when you have usb-C (which should be faster)? Just use the 5v power connector and use USBC to connect your external ssd.>> <<@FlyingSurprise says : Good luck selling that for $65.>> <<@cocomaksindia3801 says : Fantastic test as you always do!>> <<@cedartop says : Hardkernel just introduced their new Odroid H3 and H3+ Models which might be very interesting! 2x 2.5GbE combined with a N6005 CPU are a good combination!>> <<@briccimn says : Fantastic test as you always do! Interesting stability in Android, but barely unusable with everything else!>> <<@G3PWP says : Thanks Chris great review>> <<@deHakkelaar1 says : FYI, at 12:38 , 945MB "used" memory displayed is memory used by processes plus Linux disk cache. If want to know how much of that is used by apps, run the "free -h" command and subtract "available" from "total" memory. There is a nice site that explains this: "linuxatemyram", but I cant link to it somehow.>> <<@ConfuSomu says : VIM1s? this might be the perfect SBC on which to run vim. Great review as always!>> <<@inconnu299 says : Where can I get a 2GB Rpi4 at 45$ ?>> <<@mickelodiansurname9578 says : Bit of a flop there Chris... If PI 4 is the benchmark this SBC failed.>> <<@delavanty says : 1:20 u sounded like the narrator from Stanley parable When u went no no no no>> <<@stefanp4258 says : A35 cores are not very fast, pi4 should be double the speed in benchmarks.>> <<@maxoverridemax says : Need help from across the pond. I want a vim bord "vim2Max" but can't find any help with coding the gpio pens. Ideally I would like to operate them from python code/script while using the linux os. I've looked at some forums but I just can't find any examples.>> <<@Giblet535 says : I can't speak for the 1s, but the Vim3 doesn't work with VESA computer monitors, belying the C in SBC, and Khadas abandoned the board at Ubuntu 18.04. The Pi family's success is due in large part to ongoing product support for older family members. Khadas is like Seeed Studios in this respect: cool looking closed source ship-and-forget tech w/ no future path. Pi 4 for $45? That was in 1950's-era dollars wasn't it?>> <<@KolyaNadj says : I've been following your channel since I saw the Explaining USB 3.0 video 12 years ago and noticed something. Chris, you don't age!>> <<@gdewitastras.t.1426 says : How to install openwrt on this sbc?>> <<@philipsnettleton says : You went into your swap space on Ubuntu. That will really slow things down. Rule of thumb, Ubuntu needs at least 8GB of RAM to operate at peak performance. On my Linux development machine, I have 16 cores at 4GHz on an AMD CPU with 32GB of RAM. Overkill? Not for the research that I do. Agreed that the Raspberry Pi 4 is better. Good video.>> <<@carlosmercado07 says : As allways, excelent video explaining a new very interesting single board computer !!>> <<@jasonkanerichardson says : I ordered this board after your review. Do you know if there’s other systems I could install? I quite fancy google tv>> <<@englishrupe01 says : Sadly, i don't understand why Khadas Vim would bring this out when there are better TV boxes out there using the S905X3 with 4Gb ram and 128Gb emmc for the same money, with a true 1000Mb LAN, has USB3 and is available on Amazon, (with a free case). A much higher performing SoC. Or the same better chip with less emmc for 50 bucks. But again great video, thanks Chris. I love seeing you check these SBC's out.>> <<@tech29X says : NFG; No F'in Good. Your video is nice and informative as usual, though the board with just 2GB Ram, sans USB 3, is NFG. Also, I don't get how come YouTube is not available in Google Play Store. Is it official?>> <<@stephenhargreaves9011 says : I have to be honest, it seems inferior to the Pi4 in almost every respect, apart from on board storage, which is easily and inexpensively solved on the Pi4.>> <<@ИзвестныйБлогер-з6ц says : Thanks Chris>> <<@MartinKL says : It might be helpful to add that you can't buy a raspberry pi for $45 anywhere despite the "recommended retail price">> <<@johngay8416 says : One point regarding YouTube in this video. On Android, you used a stand-alone YouTube app to get good playback. But on Ubuntu you ran YouTube from within a browser which adds quite a lot of overhead on top of the YouTube playback. I would recommend using the same browser on Android to run YouTube for a better apples to apples comparison.>> <<@ruslanshuster9124 says : Could you please also make a video on GPU technologies?>>
