I think it should not have been so difficult to find out the truth. Surely, somebody knew the truth. Why wasn't it explicitly declared? That should also be discussed...>> <<@LeLagirlie04 says : I would feel bad for him if he didn't act the way he did. He smiled in victims faces, lied, etc. Was he Ivan the Terrible? For me the key to change my opinion was when he said he was gonna be remembered as a hero...hero of what...and innocent wouldnt said that at all. Look at the photo, he is him. Even if there was another "Ivan" he is not innocent at all>> <<@trianglewhip says : It was a lynch mob KKK style. One remarkable event during the trial in Israel involved a star witness for the prosecution, Eliyahu Rosenberg. Asked by the prosecution if he recognised Demjanjuk, Rosenberg asked Demjanjuk to remove his glasses "so I can see his eyes". Rosenberg approached and peered closely at Demjanjuk's face. When Demjanjuk smiled and offered his hand, Rosenberg recoiled and shouted, "Grozny!" (гро́зный!), meaning "Terrible" in Russian. Rosenberg then stated: "Ivan, I say it unhesitatingly, without the slightest shadow of a doubt. It is Ivan from Treblinka, from the gas chambers, the man I am looking at now." Rosenberg further told the court, glaring at Demjanjuk "I saw his eyes, I saw those murderous eyes." Rosenberg then exclaimed directly to Demjanjuk: "How dare you put out your hand, murderer that you are!"[18] It was later revealed that Rosenberg had previously testified in a 1947 deposition that Ivan the Terrible had been killed during a prisoner uprising.[19] How many more so called [survivors] lied?>> <<@KAZ411 says : Regardless, he was associated with a Nazi camp and likely killed numerous Jewish prisoners. The Holocaust was a terrible hate crime and a dark and horrible time. This man lied on his immigration papers and should have been prosecuted sooner. I wonder if he felt any remorse for what he did.>> <<@sacramentocheesehog9195 says : Poor man>> <<@PresidentOfApaches says : he seems to much alike with Ivan`s photo, his eyes and facial features. Many survivors were sure that he was Ivan and it turned out he was indeed working in death camps. He wasnt properly convicted but I am happy of the fact that he couldnt feel comfortable after 80s....>> <<@MrArjen1960 says : I know a killer when I see one, but there could be a misunderstanding about justice. I think doing terrible things like that and live happily ever after is a myth. Even for a psychopath, not that someone like that would feel any remorse, but being a psychopath would deprive someone of real happiness and connections. That is a punishment in itself. But that is only my way of thinking, and forgiveness is always more powerful than revenge. My grandfather was murdered in cold blood by the Nazi's and when I was young I wanted revenge on the person who killed him. Luckily that person was and still is unknown. Killing someone out off revenge will not bring another person back and bring the same suffer that you experienced to others. It may give temporary relief but it will not heal you or take away the trauma. I do not judge the victims it's a human reaction to loss and pain, but I hope I can bring some light in these dark spaces.....>> <<@thediplomaticmailbag says : Why didn't the defence get the family to provide photos to compare against the prosecutors' photos>> <<@thediplomaticmailbag says : Does anyone know what mark Felton has said about John being. They have stated they have all kinds of information but never produce a shred. Either way, John died an innocent man by law. However, they have found two more photos of possibly Ivan. Where are the family photographs of John at different ages that could clear him, or at least bend public opinion?. Betcha the family has compared them.>> <<@jtn81x says : I mean who can dislike a guy that is this good at his job? If it was me or a bunch of random jews I didn't know I would kill them too. Treblinka or burning Gazan's alive, bulldozing Palestinian homes, relentless bombing of a population in a concentration camp of people who have no where to run. What's the difference between Treblinka and denying a population of 2 million food, water, sanitation and medical care, with only a tent or a building turned to rubble to shelter in? The Israeli's once had the sympathy of the world. No more. I can see how mass sadism develops. The starving of 4 million Ukrainians during the famine and the Jewish Holocaust. It plants the seeds of hatred in people. But the Palestinians weren't responsible for the Holocaust and the Jews for the mass starvation of Ukrainians. The abused become abusers.>> <<@blackbeatle795 says : I think he is Ivan the Terrible and he is innocent.>> <<@JackTripper-m3f says : The real Ivan the Terrible of Treblinka was actually a Ukrainian guy named Ivan Marchenko who was an evil guard in Treblinka.>> <<@nickdedivanaj says : 271k. I'm very good at faces, I can take a look at someone in their 80s and make a connection to a photo of them in their 20s. I did that a lot with Civil war veterans, this guy absolutely is the same guy, well was the same guy now that he's dead rotting in hell.
