It has bribery written all over it. 3.Threatening to impeach judges-some members of Congress and Elon Musk are calling for impeachment of judges. If we begin impeaching judges cause we don’t like their rulings we have lost our only remaining check. If this falls the president has all the power and our constitution is defunct. 4.Tariffs - Allows for Trump to pick and choose winners. He can grant dispensations where he desires, significantly increasing his power and authority. 5. executive order 14215 - “Ensuring Accountability for All Agencies,” undermines the foundational principle of separation of powers by extending presidential control over independent regulatory agencies. By mandating that these agencies submit all significant regulatory actions for presidential review and adhere to legal interpretations issued by the president or the attorney general, the order compromises their intended autonomy. This consolidation of power within the executive branch diminishes the system of checks and balances, potentially leading to unchecked executive actions and reduced government transparency.>> <<@dennisobrien3133 says : I think humility in all its iterations is a good policy. I was suckered into it in my 20s as someone that had no purpose and had somewhat tyrannical parents. "What comes after the revolution" INDEED. I began to think more about that and started to realize that it would be something worse. I think the left goes too far when it starts acting hyper moralistic and projecting shame onto others. I still care about human rights and the planet and equality. But equality of opportunity. Other than that though I've embraced my conservative side. I just want good opportunities and to be left the hell alone lol. It's truly scary how when the left starts going too far, they start to create something that's not only exactly what they are against, but an even more terrifying and tyrannical version of it. The snake eating itself. I don't believe it will ever succeed in the United States. But it can and certainly has caused a lot of damage. Namely, that the ethnic demographic shifts which have occurred/are occurring in nations like France, Germany, England, and America are beginning to morph into social and cultural changes—and, on the whole, they're not positive ones. Parallel societies never mesh well together, and often come into conflict of some kind. In addition, the cultural, social, and ethical nature of a people lasts only for as long as those people do. You can call someone an "Afro-Saxon" or a "Parisian-Pakistani" all you like, and claim that they're "just as British/French/etc. as the native-born." But, if those people now seek to fundamentally change or destroy the cultural and social institutions and norms of the original peoples, all those things are is a name, a descriptor, not an actual cohesive, coherent national identity that can weather the occasional strains to the fabric of civilization (i.e. war, natural disasters, etc.). Dark times are ahead. And a mere return to conservative nationalism, like that which Dr. Hazony subscribes to, will not be the bulwark people believe it will be.>> <<@maifisprasla3113 says : Lol, i read the title as Trany in Disguise - rebranding Marxism>> <<@cnlbenmc says : The problem is that we no longer have a "Loyal Opposition" but a disloyal if not outright treasonous one...>> <<@Wrecktalbeads says : I appreciate the discussion. And, increasingly, they are threatening political violence on anyone who opposes them. American Imperialism financed by a centralized banking system. The Anti-federalists (Jefferson, Madison, George Mason, Patrick Henry, Richard Henry Lee, Samual Adams and many others) were right, and almost prophetically predicted the situation we live in today. We should try to reign in an broker governmental power among the states and counties to attempt to prevent there from being a concentration that corrupts decent people or that can be usurped by evil people. Even if such corruption or usurpation occurs at a more localized level then there is atleast the option of moving to a different state, county, or community. But with one government that rules in all aspects and issues over all of America direct, the opportunity for escape is near nonexistent. There is no virtue, transparency or connection between representatives and represented. The aggregation of the electorate makes it extremely difficult to alter the government or hold it accountable. Statistically our votes have little value. If someone buys 5 lottery tickets, they have a higher chance of winning the lottery than the statistical value of their vote in a presidential election. That is dismal. This shows that that’s how society set up our social contract for 200 decades. We no longer have that desired harmony. The neo-Marxists were continuing what they always do and that’s to create chaos. America was a tough nut to crack and the Marxists have been lurking around for decades. They knew they had to “kill off the society from within” and the “do your own thing” took hold strongly in the 60’s. Our social norms that had kept us strong were breaking as our wealth grew. The me, me, me generation grew through the 60’s and 70’s until of 1980’s was known as “The Decadent Decade”. Have you examined society at large? When the wise and noble Baby Boomers, (also the Proto-Boomers and Post Boomers to some degree), decided to throw out the old and in with the new, however with no “new” as a replacement, the beginning and inevitable undoing of any moral code, including how people treat one another, was set in stone, replaced by Moral Relativism. We knew better than those squares, our parents and grandparents generation. Worse, we were so blind to consequences, Baby Boomers did not even conceive we were throwing out the old, nor did we believe in Relativism, philosophically. Thus we disbelieved it would become the replacement code. The labels were affixed after the deeds and consequences, after which we began to want to make sense of the mess. The campus radical Neo-Marxists grew up, gained power and position, however, they came into power and definition later; they confiscated the vacuum left by the ubiquitous “whatever” attitude. Boomers were ignorant to consequences, an ignorance founded on prosperity and faith — simply put, belief and disbelief. Alarms, warnings and unfolding evidence could be met with disbelief; problem solved. An “It is No Big Deal” life philosophy could be installed by merely believing it. Does that sound like a familiar accusation. of Baby Boomers directed toward anyone born later, against Gen x and Gen Z; from whom do you think they learned. The Baby Boomer generation and our self-delusion, founded on and funded by the good times, came back home, and the baby chicks growing up in our constructed society was and is their classroom. Genuine question- why are they talking about Marxism as if it’s something people want? Like an agenda. It seems to me that it’s just a prediction of what happens when the ‘higherarchy of social construct’ becomes so corrupt and greedy that the general population are unable to meet their basic needs and are left with no option but to revolt. Everyone knows we need some kind of law & order- but if the higherarchy acted right- Marxist theory would be nothing more than a warning of what not to do. How can you follow the rules of the higherarchy when you don’t respect them? And for good reason. The main thing that’s changed about Marxist theory is that media can’t be used to sway public opinion anymore- it’s being used to show us how corrupt everything is. Does the whole thing really need to self combust rather than regulating the people at the top of the pile that have gone power/money mad?>> <<@aneash482 says : Maybe it’s a political reality in the western sphere, but it’s not in China. Communist party of China actually does not encourage such wokesim, actually most of the time, the media in China mock wokeism in the West. It also made it obvious how individual atomization has been profoundly destructive to modern society. I can’t begin to explain how much my perspective has shifted over the years. I still am a staunch classic liberal idealist, and my skepticism regarding conservatives has evolved over the years. It went from vitriol in my early teens, to skepticism in my late teens, to neutrality in my early 20s, to sympathy during the trump years. Now as a parent I am convinced that it’s an essential component of a functioning family and by extension society. Liberalism and all great ideas, institutions, norms and discoveries cannot exist without a preserving impulse. The greatest values of conservatism are its pragmatism, preservation of tradition, communal focus, and the communication of a cultural historical lineage.>> <<@byronkerby6897 says : One of the many benefits of honoring our parents is that we will be honored by our own children, as they have seen it modeled by us. It was God's idea in the first place, so our obedience will be rewarded. I agree that we should find a way to honor and respect everyone, and that it is a form of grace that we give people, just as God has. I also believe that sometimes it is necessary to distance ourselves from an abusive parent, but we can still honor them by refusing to tell everyone how awful they are.>> <<@rekindlefitness says : Reading Dr. Hazony's book 'Conservatism: A Rediscovery' now.
