Just so you know, Procopius is probably one of the least reliable sources of historical information. His works are often cited when historians present highly inaccurate accounts of this period. It is like asking a North Korean historian to describe American civilization; they are hostile towards America, and disagreeing isn't healthy, so accuracy is not likely. In fact, Procopius was so ridden with guilt about his lying he wrote a whole book called the secret histories, to say he was lying. To state it lightly, Emperor Justinian was somewhat tyrannical, he only killed one fifth of Constanopol for public protests. Furthermore, he was pushing for an unprovoked war in Italy that no one supported. Descriptions of events in Italy and France during the so-called fall of Rome don't align with firsthand Roman accounts from people living in those regions. That is standard war propaganda. As a result, it's impossible to get an accurate portrayal of the Franks from someone who would have faced execution for speaking favorably about them. Please do not mention Procopius when talking about either French or Italian history. From what I've gathered from credible sources in Italy and France then, there was no actual "fall of Rome," at least in terms of the government. While the imperial title was abolished and military leaders were no longer Roman nobles, the governmental structures remained intact, and Roman law continued to be enforced. In fact, the kings of France and Italy were clients of the Eastern Roman Emperor, even going as far as sending the standards to the East, implying he was in charge. At the time of Clovis's birth, France could best be described as a military junta that functioned as a client state of the Eastern Roman Empire, much like the Foederati had for centuries before.

Your wrong, about Arius, his written exposition of faith survived🎉 BEGOTTEN, the actual word he used, does not mean created as decietfully charged by Rome. 🎉🎉🎉

I never realized Brittany (or at least the Bretons) was already there when Clovis's career began. In fact, that map at 3:00 has to be between 476 and 481, when Clovis was a kid since Julius Nepos (a former West Roman Emperor) has his little empire in Illyria.

How can he be the father of France when the Franks are not the French people? The Franks are germanic people, their modern descendants are the Dutch and Rhinelanders. The French are Romanized Gauls who adopted their conqueror's name.

3:07 Romulus Augustulus is a figurehead in hands of a magister militum of barbarian ancestry Orestes (a recurring theme in 3-5 century roman politics obviously), literally nobody outside northern italy considered this boy a Roman Emperor, since Julius Nepos, the legitimate emperor was alive and well in Dalmatia, and eastern emperor Zeno obviously would not recognize the child. So nobody cared when he was «overthrown», nor did ANY of the people living in 476 thought that western empire had «collapsed». The only region where a «collapse» happpened was Brittania, other provinces thought they were still living in the Empire, up until around emperor Justinian's wars (If the emperor declares war on you maybe he doesn't consider you his subject so you aren't really living in the Empire?) or the empress Irene, whom the Pope considered to be illegitimate, later crowning Charlemagne. So what you just said is not only gross oversipmlification, I actually consider it being closer to misinformation. I like you channel, didn't expect that!!

That bit about Constantine converting to Christianity after the battle of the Melvian Bridge is incorrect. He would go on to legalize the faith and even patronize many Christian churches and groups after he becomes sole ruler of the Roman Empire but he actally didn't get baptized until several years before his death in the mid 330s AD.
