The word of God does not demand repentance from sin to be saved. Biblical repentance is directly tied to biblical revelation. This would have to be nothing but confusing to a nonbeliever. the Gospel of John quotes believe over 100 times and is mentioned over 200 times in the New Testament alone. Mainly it's God's will that we believe, of cause just believing without faith and trust in the cross is not enough to be saved but God's gift of Grace responding the call of the Holy Spirit is a done deal. Telling people to stop sinning when we clearly cannot and those that say they do not are lying and have sinned. Believing that we are responsible to keep the Law leads inevitably to the inability to stop sinning. When we disagree with God and hang onto the idea that we must fulfill the law, we lose our joy in salvation and set ourselves up for failure. The only way to break the cycle and stop sinning is to accept the fact that we cannot stop sinning. Christ fulfilled the Law and the moment we come to terms with that we will have joy and peace. Romans 7 seems to be a chapter that living waters seems not to relate regarding its perfect depiction of struggling with the flesh! How would you witness to Paul, would you say to him stop sinning?? He knows his struggle with the flesh. A last thought what about the thief on the cross...HE JUST BELIEVED, he did not have time to discuss all the theological angles he saw Christ in the flesh and believed we see Christ through the scriptures, believe and trust in him, Faith alone, Christ alone! Many Western Christians' view of death is that if you die without Jesus you'll go to an eternal Hell, Hell forever, with no hope of salvation. Before I get into the biblical evidence of why this is a very incorrect doctrine, here's why it logically makes no sense. If you're a Christian and you believe this then how will you ever have any peace about death? If you really believe this is how things are then every person you know you would never get any sleep because at any moment they could die and go to an eternal Hell forever. Or what if your parents died and didn't know Jesus then how could you ever rationalize God as Love and Good knowing your parents or spouse or siblings died without Jesus? Imagine the early church, Paul comes to their city and preaches the Gospel and you accept Jesus but Paul doesn't make it to your relative's town who has never heard about Jesus and a loved one dies. How could you continue to believe in Jesus as God seeing your loved ones die because the Gospel hadn't gotten to them yet? So what we have done is taken another verse which raises more theologically and logical challenges. We quote Matthew 7 13 “Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. 14 Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it." So let's look at our world today. Even though the numbers say 2.3 billion Christians by Ray's admission he would believe that number is far smaller. So let's say there are about 1 billion Christians in the world that's 1/8 of the global population. This fits with our application of Matthew 7. However, what we are really saying is that God Almighty creator of Heaven and Earth sent Jesus to die a horrible death to save 1 person out of 8 and that 7/8 people will go to Hell. So is God Almighty or is Satan? If Satan can take 7/8 of the world to hell with him and he didn't have to die on the cross then aren't those better results than God's? So here's why this is problematic Biblically. Matthew 25 41 “Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels." What we call Hell can be confusing as I said many Christians believe you go to an eternal Hell forever, but Revelation 20 debunks that 11 Then I saw a great white throne and Him who sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away. And there was found no place for them. 12 And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before God, and books were opened. And another book was opened, which is the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to their works, by the things which were written in the books. 13 The sea gave up the dead who were in it, and Death and Hades delivered up the dead who were in them. And they were judged, each one according to his works. 14 Then Death and Hades were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. 15 And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire." Hades is not eternal the Lake of Fire is. And the sentencing to the Lake of fire is at the Great White Throne judgment which is far into the future. If the word "Hell" is in the same sentence as eternal or eternity then it's referring to the Lake of fire. If the word "Hell" appears as in a place waiting for judgment then it's Hades. So why are Satan and his Angels already condemned to eternal fire/Hell? Because they have complete knowledge of God. Job 38 the whole host of heaven including Satan and his angels were there at creation and Job 1 says Satan appears before God's Throne. Satan has seen the LORD's power and yet wants to dethrone Him, he wants to rule. As we read in Scripture Adam and Eve walked with God daily. He appeared to Abraham in Genesis 18 in human form. Then He spoke to Moses and the Prophets but not every nation knew about God. We see this in the years before the Exodus where even the Israelite's knowledge of God had faded and Egypt had no understanding of God. Through Israel, various nations came to the knowledge of the God of Israel but by Jesus's time we see that even the Pharisees and Sadducees although they followed and believed in God, Jesus shows us their doctrines were totally wrong. Then Paul in Romans says that God has partially blinded the Jewish people for a specific time which has yet to come. So if God purposely blinded the Jewish people not to the knowledge of Him but to the knowledge of the Messiah who is Jesus then they all would have gone to Hell over the last 2000 years. Is that what we really believe? We support Israel and the Jewish people but as they pass away we believe they've gone to an eternal Hell on purpose since Scripture tells us 7 "What then? Israel has not obtained what it seeks; but the elect have obtained it, and the rest were blinded. 8 Just as it is written: “God has given them a spirit of stupor, Eyes that they should not see And ears that they should not hear, To this very day.” ...25 that blindness in part has happened to Israel until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in." This next one is my question is the one I ask anytime there's a Q &A session to try to understand. And then there's Revelation 14: where God will send an Angel to preach to the whole world. 6 Then I saw another angel flying in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach to those who dwell on the earth-to every nation, tribe, tongue, and people— 7 saying with a loud voice, “Fear God and give glory to Him, for the hour of His judgment has come; and worship Him who made heaven and earth, the sea and springs of water.” If God is sending an Angel to preach the everlasting Gospel then why is there no mention of Jesus or believing in Him for salvation? This is a question I think I might know the answer but I'm not sure. Yet Revelation 7 says 9 After these things I looked, and behold, a great multitude which no one could number, of all nations, tribes, peoples, and tongues, standing before the throne and before the Lamb,...13 Then one of the elders answered, saying to me, “Who are these arrayed in white robes, and where did they come from?” 14 And I said to him, “Sir, you know.” So he said to me, “These are the ones who come out of the great tribulation, and washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb." Of course, we are to share the Gospel and pray for people but to believe that people die and go to an eternal Hell forever makes zero sense to me. What I think happens is that people who believe in Jesus when they die their souls go to Heaven and their bodies stay in the ground until resurrection day. 2 Cor 5:8 We are confident, yes, well pleased rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord." Resurrection day 1 Cor 15:50-57. For those who don't know Jesus they go to Hades. The waiting place and I think that there might still be 2 sections like in Luke 16:19-30. Some to Paradise and some to torment. All to come to the knowledge of God. Knowing there is a life after death. Knowing there is an eternal Heaven and a Hell waiting for them and that during this time they are being prepared to choose whom they will serve. The Bible says on earth during the time before Jesus comes the world will know the God of Israel exists. Ezekiel 38:23, Revelation 6:15-17. Revelation 13:4 says people will have the knowledge the Beast is given power by the Dragon who is Satan. 4 So they worshiped the dragon who gave authority to the beast; and they worshiped the beast, saying, “Who is like the beast? Who is able to make war with him?” With Complete knowledge people will choose who they think will rule. God or Satan. I believe that before the Great White Throne Judgment those who have died will also choose. Maybe I'm wrong, but if we look at Christians and the Church there is no way anyone could convince me that even born-again Christians know who God is let alone a non-Christian. Just some thoughts. Jesus told Peter "If you don't allow me to wash your feet you can have no part of me." Peter was an apostle at the time. Let that sink in. We serve Him by trusting Him. There are zero promises or threats that will happen to you in this world if you commit. In contrast, the ot rarely ever mentions the afterlife and it never ever threatens with it. Every single threat and promise contained in Leviticus 26 is verifiable and is always in this world. Using hell to promote a religion and to use such scare tactics to lure people in is just so disingenuous and so deceptive. If this is truly the word of God, why would there be zero things we could verify? Especially since the ot has countless things we could verify and nothing we can't.
