(Jos 1:8) This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success. Buddhism is about trying to overcome the ego and let go of attachments freeing oneself from the cycle of Samsara (reincarnation). New age is a corruption and perversion of real eastern spiritual practices that are beneficial by focusing on self-love and narcissism. New age is instead of using meditation to improve concentration and awareness. Uses it to put one in an almost hypnotic state with certain music and drugs that goes against Buddhism meditation practices. I really wish people wouldn't lump in eastern Darmha with new-age nonsense.>> <<@rustytrubey6234 says : What about when someone leads you in a “relaxation” meditation? “Feel your feet flat on the floor, become aware of your eyes, shoulders, stomach, etc no judgement, just become aware of your breath. I then listen to what he says and ignore my monkey brain and negative thoughts. I think of things I read in scripture as well to get more clarity. I really think a lot of Christian’s are overthinking things and making some crazy accusations on meditation. Yes I believe staying away from meditation that is focused on chakras and the universe and all that stuff but meditating and thinking of Jesus is a great way for me personally to talk to him. It brings me to joyful tears at times. I highly doubt Jesus would give you a hard time for meditating. He wants a relationship with you. He talks about that constantly in the Bible. He wants your heart, not your good works and rule following ways.>> <<@dmana3172 says : Meditation is wrong and will send you to hell. 😢>> <<@thomasvillani5616 says : Hey guys hope you all are feeling blessed today! It is the most profound thing that has ever happened to me spiritually, and I never would have been able to fully comprehend what God is until this happened. Its not a "joy" fest where you get saved infront of your congregation, it is not emotional, it is something else entirely, and it is not being part of a special club. It is the most profound experience of ones life, and I very much doubt that it happens as often as the people in church would have you believe.>> <<@Archangel-Michael369 says : I Meditate On Yahusha's Name... He does this so nobody or entity or demon has the ability to mimick him and convince you that he is god. It makes sense if you think about it, lucifer and his fellow angels can lie to you and have (probably) the ability to interact with you, some examples are through mediums or physics, apparently they mimic your dead relatives and channel through the medium and convince you that you are talking to them. That is pure evil. Think about it, youre talking to a dead person, how is that possible? And God i think wouldnt want you going through pain of a dead loved one like that, and if heaven is truly sacred and a place only reached through hard work and faith it doesnt make sense some old lady would be able to connect with such a world,>> <<@RC_Zak says : You practice Christian meditation through scripture and certain scriptures you recite and go over and speak to god in a humble way a way you feel relaxed and you just go into that light and your holy spirit becomes stronger and the light grows more inside you. Maybe I need to meditate on that? This is an age of "experiential christiondom" (I made that up) or at least that's what I'm calling all this stuff! Do not be swept away with all this stuff y'all. All I want is a ten minute (or so) calm reading of a short Scripture passage over a soothing soundtrack - flowing water, quiet music, whatever. I don’t want a sermon. I don’t want to hear somebody’s theology. A long time ago (back in the days of cassettes, if you remember those!) I had exactly what I’m after - it was a recording of a guy with a great, calming voice reading a verse from a Psalm, then a couple minutes of quiet environmental sounds, then another verse and more open space, and so on. Great voice, great audio quality, nothing but the Word. I can’t remember what the name of the program was, and I’ve been unable to find a good replacement in any digital form. Each day has enough trouble of its own.” (Matthew 6:34) The meditations I do are simply mindfulness practice for being able to focus on the moment, vs the Western mindset which pushes us to always be stressing about tomorrow to the point of needing anti-depressants/anxiety meds. I don't do New Age stuff, chants, and if I see a Buddha I am out. Just self awareness, calm, and appreciation. The Western mindset is to treat symptoms with medication, but not examine the underlying causes of why the average Christians today is so depressed and without hope. Somehow everyone is ok with this.>> <<@mwol5473 says : Yoga is perfectly fine for Christains if you focus on the Son, the Father, and the Holy Spirit...
