As great as Kikrhope’s and Nintendo’s official remixes and covers can be, they tend to approach these songs with the subtlety of a cartoon mallet. They typically are thunderous and loud from the get go and compensate for that by getting even louder whenever they get to the “main section” of the song, but that’s not how these songs work. Just like the levels they accompany, these songs are full movements where each subtle addition informs the rest of the entire experience- no shade to Grant Kirkhope btw his tracks have their own great strengths and weaknesses, it’s just that subtlety is not one of them>> <<@StrAnGErous420 says : Still believe it's the greatest soundtrack I've ever heard for a game.
