there are good things that Mushrooms can lead to, but I can not stress this enough... If you just do mushrooms and think everything will be fine you will absolutely pay a heavy price, YOU NEED TO DO THE WORK and be persistent with it, otherwise that you will become rejected by the spirit as your actions have rejected it.

16:19 this is my problem with the quote that Jordan repeats sometimes “beware of unearned wisdom.” A baptism by fire is not a walk in the park. If you’re in a trip, and you must slay your dragon, or lay down and be consumed by it, you wouldn’t tell someone that whatever knowledge or wisdom they got from slaying their dragon was “unearned”. It takes a lot of courage to face your demons, and I think whatever you earn from that battle is done so heroically and yours to keep. And furthermore, whose business is it to say who’s earned what? These things are very personal sometimes, and I think people toss that quote around, inconsiderately.

I am so curious. Of all the experts who work with patients and psychedelics, do any have personal experiences with the psychedelics themselves. In other words, have any of them had psychedelic experiences themselves? Have they ever taken psychedelics?

God, I love Jordan Peterson, but to be operating at such a high level and still feel the need to insert so many disruptive ads embedded in the video itself is just plain douchy! Come on, man! I pay for premium because I'm interested in your ideas, not your sponsors. Put them at the beginning or the end so I can skip them all at once rather than having to take notes on which companies I want to boycott...

The statement, "Genetic mutation is random" is one on which there is not at all scientific consensus. There is a variety of compelling evidence for non-random mutation. Rupert Sheldrake points out some very interesting phenomena regarding non-random mutation and invokes Field Theory as a possible explanation for phenomena that are too organized to be explained by the random interaction of purely materialistic components.

17:00 Pivotal Mental States - conceptualise and contextualise psychedelics and what they do. Propose: Psychedelics are drugs that hijack the stress response system. Why are you seeing in a skewed way? 36:00 existential dilemma 40:00 Understand Pathology - and understand how it serves you 47:00 The Canonization model of Psychopathology- excessive associative learning done for physcologically defensive reasons. 1:00:00 Socially adept friend vs. Jordan Peterson's intro with this guest 😉 1:30:00 Apophenia trap 1:33:00 Description of Paranoid Schizophrenia 1:51:00 Tohu va bohu - formless void - Taiome - chaos and order - hierarchical order - perturbation reverberates through system with psychedelics towards an ordered system, mastery. 1:53:00 Control, Structure, and Order in the World, too much order. I think I have to agree with Robin. Overlearning, which he also termed defensive learning, has been, and continues to be, a life inhibitting habit. Instead of choosing to face the unknown in good faith while seeing and learning things as they truly are, I build and expand on past learnings. It kills experience and aliveness.
