<<@Mandude32 says : 6:35>> <<@wesfin says : Prayer of saints is Old Testament sacrifice the aroma that is pleasing to God. He detects the quality of our offering, how true our confession is. Confession and forgiveness lifts weight off your shoulders, the burden of sin and the weightlessness and bravery of innocence. Work is a form of sacrifice, sacrificing the present for the future. You ultimately sacrifice everything to your highest priority. If you want to know what your highest priority is, analyze what you are willing to let go of in order to get. 5:50 prayer cannot substitute sacrifice if you do not have the sacrifice of Christ. That’s the only substitute for our sin in which we put our sin our burden onto Christ (our best, our innocent and perfect representative) and He is sacrificed. But if Christ is not your highest priority then you are making the sacrifice of Cain not of Abel.>> <<@aalm2926 says : Peterson is theorizing like an arm-chair philosopher about how can prayers substitute for sacrificial offerings and comes out with very cerebral explanations while the answer is much more mundane: it's not the prayers it's the commandment for an observant Jew to say a blessing before every minute and seemingly insignificant action - like before eating, sleeping, waking up, after shitting, before sex, when you see a rainbow or when smelling something pleasant, etc' etc', but that's just the beginning - add to that the daily lengthy mandatory prayers - three times a day and not alone but in a group of at least 10 male Jews above 13 years of age (meaning you have to go out to meet somewhere) - and that means you are sacrificing a huge chunk of time every single day of your adult life (=above 13) for prayer and the worship of God. There is no bigger sacrifice for a human that the short time he has on this earth between cradle and death. It's tedious, strict and very difficult to maintain. A good example why anthropology will always trump arm-chair philosophy/psychology. In reality, it was the monotheists who were the aggressors and the Egyptians were the victims. In the 13th dynasty of Egypt people known by modern historians as the Hyksos, AKA the “shepherd kings”, conquered northern Egypt taking control of its throne for their own purposes. This foreign occupation lasted for about 300 years until a pharaoh descended of those original conquerors named Amenhetep the 4th tried to force monotheism on the Egyptian population; taking as his new name, one of several aliases, Akhenaten. For the native Egyptians, who had suffered the machinations of their foreign rulers, this was the last straw. Five Egyptian generals funded by the southern treasury of Egypt launched a military coup and exiled Amenhetep along with his Levitical priesthood. It was after his expulsion that, realizing he couldn’t work openly anymore, Amenhetep took his last alias - “Moses”; a name truncation derived from one of his relatives named Thutmoses. From that point, the propaganda of the Holy Bible was written.>> <<@Dr.AlessandroDrago says : That's the huge difference between Christianity based on "gnosis" (knowledge within ourselves from the skies) and what happened from Nicea on.>> <<@dougieh9676 says : I've never had a father figure. He responded that he did not know except that he was commanded to do so. The angel then instructed that this thing was a similitude of the sacrifice of the only begotten son of God who was full of grace and truth. The posterity of Adam down to Moses, and from Moses to Jesus Christ offered up sacrifices by the shedding of blood which ended with the death of Jesus Christ. With the death of Christ old things have passed away and all things have become new - including the principle of sacrifice. But now the sacrifice required was that of a broken heart and a contrite spirit. These two ideas were defined by what Jesus said before he began the Atoning sacrifice in the garden of Gethsemanie where he said "Father, if it be possible let this bitter cup pass form before me. Nevertheless, not my will (the broken heart) but thine (the contrite spirit) be done. This is the sacrifice God now requires of his people.>> <<@ninag1725 says : The sacrifice now is through FASTING and prayers!! Review Jesus words. Those sects and traditions that have extensive prayers to Mary, That offer up prayers of adoration, venerate her image and likeness, supplicate her for their Salvation, peace, and protection. Etc. The protestant position would be that this constituents worship. Show me an object or thing a person is praying to, supplicating, adoring, and venerating, of any other religion, and we would rightly conclude, that's the object of worship of their religion. An often heard retort, is that, all these things are somehow not worship, but that sacrifice alone is worship, and so since no sacrifice is made to Mary, she is not being worshiped. But as this conversation reveals, there is no carnal version of sacrifice in the modern world, it has been abstracted. Although abstracted, it is nonetheless sacrifice. As it is the sacrifice of ones thoughts, emotions, and being to another. Effectively rebutting the idea, that the aforementioned acts are not worship, that a sacrifice is taking place, a sacrifice of prayer and being.>> <<@KaneinFrance says : where do we get the full vids JP?>> <<@EriconYouTube22 says : Where did the whole lecture meeting go? When he asks why are we not sacrificing anymore you don't have the right or even a decent answer for him. The obvious answer is that Jesus did away with the sacrificial system and he is the last sacrifice to atone for sins. That is why they even sacrificed in the first place, to atone for sins. After Jesus had come and gone the jews continued to sacrifice like normal until Rome came and destroyed Jerusalem. One of the practices of the sacrifice was to take a white thread, and dip it into the sacrifices blood to turn it red. They would then place it in the Holy Place in the temple and after a certain amount of time, the thread would turn white again to signify that their sins were forgiven. This happened for thousands of years until 30 Ad, when Jesus had left. The scarlet thread would no longer turn white when left in the Holy Place and the Jews practiced it for 40 years after but the thread never turned white again. Obviously its to signify that their offering was not accepted because the forgiveness of sins had all transferred to Jesus and he became the only sacrifice that God will take. So there should be no sacrifice made like they used to do from on because not only will it not work, it throws the sacrifice Jesus made in his face and by doing that it implies that his sacrifice was in vein and it is disrespectful. Also when the jews start sacrificing in the temple again like the other guy says they very much would like to do, it is said to be a sign of the end times. That is something studious Christians know and it is something that you should know Jordan. It is very frustrating to see someone like you who has great clarity and insight to not know something this important. I cant believe you as a Christian skip right over what he said and have a dog shit answer for him. Sacrifice is about faith in God and His promise. Do you have faith in God to follow His Law or do you wish to rebel? If God was to accept your animal sacrifice to atone for your sin, you had to do it with complete piety. God knows what is in people's hearts and knew when they were just going through the motions of the ritual. Amos 5 is a rebuke from God against Jewish animal sacrifices because they never approached it with faith in Him. It has nothing to do with putting in hard work. Cain toiled in the fields, yet his sacrifice was not accepted. Are you going to lay it all on the line and have compete faith in God or aren't you? God saves the spiritually aware by forcing truth into the seen world. Those that live outside of the mind, force those that think inwardly, out. Moses wants to take his people away from the noisy world to a quite place of meditation. Instead of seeing mans reflection on the outside world, they see Gods reflective thought projected through the peoples minds. Hence seeing God on the mountain. The ascended thought. The people sacrifice their thought to recieve Gods. Symbolically they sacrifice life that they have created. On a deeper level they sacrifice the body and live in thought. Hence having to wash after sex etc. This trying to live in the mind rather than as an animalistic body with its animalistic desires.>> <<@Diehard_DDS says : The Messiah which the Jews is waiting for a very long time will come for them (The Jews) and it will happen to be the two witnesses said in the bible. Beacause Moses represents the law. Read in John 1:17. -Yes you heard it right, according to the bible Elijah is not dead and you will be confused why the Angel and the devil are fighting for the body of moses. Jude 1:9 In this video seems mention the buiding of the 3rd temple. In revelation 11, shows that God does not agree with the building of the 3rd temple, because it is an INSULT to his son Jesus Christ. Remember the purpose of the temple is where the sacrifice of sheep and goats will be performed by the Jews. 7 years of tribulation will begin when these three things happen: 1. When Israel is whole again 2. When the 3rd temple is built in Israel- The 3rd Temple is not built yet but there are verses in the bible that the Temple will be built beside the Dome of the Rock of Muslims in Jerusaslem. 3. When there is a world leader which is (ANTI-CHRIST) , who will agree with Israel for 7 years.>> <<@blackbearbear9313 says : Then I sacrifice all the time for the Lord God is with me all the time and I know it>> <<@dwolfe2907 says : The sacrifices obviously was a foreshadow of Christ Jesus- the Lamb of God. The sinner brings an unblemished Sacrifice (the quality as DJP said),Sin is transferred onto the innocent, Sin ( the lamb) is slayed by the guilty, the blood is taken by the priest ; it is brushed onto the four horns of the altar, which are inscribed the law with a diamond point, and as the blood covered the horns and its inscribed laws , it was spiritually and physically covered by the blood of the lamb. The rest of the blood was pour unto the base of the altar, paying for the curse of the flesh, the earth. The rest of the sacrifice was burnt , and the smoke rose to show God the debt of sin for that sinner was paid. Then the priest yearly would sacrifice a Bull for himself , as he was set at a higher standard to normal people, and did the same process. Except now he had to wash himself of the blood with the water basin , and would take the blood of the bull , enter into the "holy place", where he'd sprinkle the blood seven times, then could enter into the "Most holy place" and stand before the true altar of God, the Ark, the Mercy seat and sprinkle seven times for the people. This process was no accident, it was Jesus who was the high priest who did this exact thing for us all. The Altar being the cross- the four corners which he bled : The Crown of thorns, the two nails on his hands, and one interlocking the feet. Then the blood was spilled on the ground by a Roman guard, where blood and water fell unto ground. And much of all the rest of the process was done in the spiritual realm - ripping the veil in front of the most holy place. Allowing all believers in Christ Jesus, born again , to enter to meet God face to face as though they were Jesus. Covered by the blood. So we are no longer priests of the Levitical, but of Melchizedek. A priest whose own body IS the temple, IS the living sacrifice, and can enter into the most holy place with the blood of Christ. It is no longer I that live, but Christ in me. I was crucified with him on that day. And reborn when Christ resurrected. My salvation is secure for it was Christ Jesus who won , and because I am in Christ there is no condemnation, and I am no longer a slave to sin, but a slave to righteousness. But God being a good master adopted me as a son, treats me like a friend and brother, loves me like a son , and gave me the right to rule. This is the God I worship, his promises never falter.>> <<@urnisi says : We see the burnt offering in the caduceus ☤ You sacrifice your animal behavior a wrestling match with yourself a betraying of your daily habits coupled with meditation, the practice of taking no thoughts.
