Reformation has been co-opted by Calvinists. I can understand why people might reject this rebranding. Much in the same way that deconstruction makes you uncomfortable even though stripping things down to the studs is precisely what deconstruction is. Just a thought.

Solid advice! New age Theology creeps in from many directions. Separating truth from lies is or should be a (constant) in the Christians life. Dr. Michael Heiser said it quite well when he said it simply boils down to "believing, loyalty. " In Christ Baron T.

“Deconstruction” is a post-modern, crypto-commie critical technique. It only tears down the thing in question and it builds up who ever is doing the deconstruction. Post-moderns do not aim to understand anything, they only want power.

That's just a matter of semantics dear. You're nit picking to cover up the fact that you're basically ripping apart (how's that for a lable?) the one truth in your life. I have spent all my life since my salvation learning and growing and maturing into the Christian I stand before you now. I will spend the rest of my life continuing in that process because I know I will never reach the end until I reach the feet of my Lord. There I will humbly praise and worship Him forever for His even creating me and asking me to follow Him. I'll be glad not to have to try to explain why it was that I felt the need to turn my back on all I'd been taught by His Word, as THE WORD, and "reform" my own beliefs or whatever for any reason. I just cannot see how or for what good cause any ....I'm so incensed right now and super insulted. It takes some kind of nerve is all I've got to say.

I just assumed that "deconstruction" was to be taken literally, not just a matter of having sincere doubts or struggles, but rather a complete renunciation of any previously expressed faith at all. In other words, "I used to be a Christian but am an atheist now". And if that's accurate, then we shouldn't sugarcoat it but if it's not, then I agree with Alyssa. In Christ, Andrew

I didn't know it was a buzzword and used to use it to describe the process I went through with my theology journey. And then once I learned, I decided to use "rebuild" instead (more layman's terms than reformation)

<<@rileyneufeld7001

Deconstruction doesn't become reformation until the person's faith is restored or strengthened. If it's not it's apostasy and damnable.

Deconstruction is nothing but an "apostasy" in the faith or another term for stupidity and arrogance. People come up with their own version of garbage concept that actually sends them to HELL. This is what happen when a Christian starts to reform he or her belief, but rather get confused and falls from the faith. Satan is the author of confusion. You can't even differentiate what is reality or not.

Excellent substitute for deconstruction: reformation. My mind recalls the impact learning of Martin Luther and the challenges he faced taking on his faith’s leadership. Courageous doesn’t even begin to describe Luther. ❤

But that's not what most people are doing when they use the word "deconstruction." They are rejecting the faith. The Bible calls it apostasy.
