Bible results: saved by faith alone overwhelmingly wins!
>>
<<@AndrewLane-pm2ro
says :
Justification is the process by God saves those who love him. The first step in that process is accepting the gift of faith, after which we demonstrate our love for God and the sincerity of our faith by our willingness to obey God's commandments. All one needs to understand justification are these two short verses: 1. "If you love me, you will keep my commandments" (John 14:15). Here Jesus in fact refers to the process of justification ... which, btw, isn't achieved in a moment, but lasts our entire lifetime and ends only when we die, after which comes Judgement Day. 2: The "saints" are "those who keep the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus" (Rev 14:12, 12:17). Notice how similar this verse is to James 2:24 - "a man is justified by works and not by faith alone."

No, it isn't getting "down and dirty." It isn't 'getting busy!" Where's our Rest in Christ and Simplicity & Liberty of the Faith??? Where's the Ole "We're Saved By Grace, Justified By Faith, In Jesus Christ Alone, Thru the Gospel and our Trust in His Finished Sufficient Work of the Cross and in His Faithful Promises Alone!" Battlecry! Ppl are still confused. It's NOT works, but it IS our Union with Christ Jesus and our Fellowship with Him Within His Word Prayer & Worship. It is us Abiding and Bearing Fruit. To be Tamed, Humbled, Exhorted, Edified, Conformed, Renewed in mind. It is not by might, nor by power, but by My Spirit says the Lord God of Hosts- Zechariah 4. It is the Spirit Who quickens, the flesh profits nothing. The Words I have spoken to you they are Spirit and they are Life- John 6. Sanctify them thru the Truth, Your Word is Truth- John 17. We are to Worship the Father In Spirit and In Truth- John 4. Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every Word that proceeds out of the mouth of God- Matthew 4, Deut 8:3. For by Grace you have been Saved through Faith. And this is Not your own doing; it is the Gift of God, NOT a result of works, so that no one may boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them- Ephesians 2:8-11. I Am the True Vine, and My Father is the Vinedresser. Every branch in Me that does not Bear Fruit, He takes away; and every branch that Bears Fruit, He Prunes it so that it may Bear more Fruit. You are already Clean because of the Word which I have spoken to you. Remain in Me, and I in you. Just as the branch cannot bear Fruit of itself but must Remain in the Vine, so neither can you unless you Remain in Me. I Am the Vine, you are the Branches; the one who Remains in Me, and I in him Bears much Fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing. If anyone does not Remain in Me, he is thrown away like a branch and dries up; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned. If you Remain in Me, and My Words Remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. My Father is Glorified by this, that you Bear much Fruit, and so prove to be My Disciples. Just as the Father has Loved Me, I also have Loved you; Remain in My Love. If you Keep (Guard Heed Retain) My commandments, you will remain in My Love; just as I have Kept My Father’s commandments and Remain in His Love. These things I have spoken to you so that My Joy may be in you, and that your Joy may be made full- John 15. Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands you sinners, and purify your minds you double-minded! Submit yourselves therefore to God; Resist the devil and he will flee from you- James 4. Salvation is of the Lord, and He will Crown the humble with His Salvation- Psalm 149:4, Isaiah 61:10-11, Psalm 3:8.

After Israel's 40 years in the wilderness, it would seem that not all Israelites were justified/saved eternally. Doubtful that the Israelites who worshiped the golden calf or rebelled against Moses in the Korah incident were eternally saved, so then that would mean that they weren't justified after leaving Egypt. The idea of 'once saved, always saved' seems to be a lullaby that lulls us into false sense of security.

The Holy Spirit does not operate under fear and trembling. Jesus said he will send another The Comforter aka the Holy Spirit. For God has not given us a spirit of fear but of power and of love and of a sound mind. The first time we stand up for our faith in public is a scary moment for many of us. The only thing that prevents people from preaching a sermon in front of a room of people is fear. This is where "fear and trembling" come from.

A great analogy of justification and sanctification. Thank you very much
>>
<<@PatrickSteil
says :
I don’t see any difference between justification and sanctification except that justification happens in day one of your relationship with the LORD. In both cases what we are called to do is to deny ourselves, take up our cross, repent and follow Him - in other words TRUST HIM with our whole heart, mind and soul. Even though we may feel like we can do this 100% on day one, as we TRUST Him more every day we see that our capacity to Trust Him more grows every day as WE allow our will to be in submission to His Will. And yes Trusting Him is a work. But submitting your will to His is how we keep from boasting. The Catholic view and practice of how to work out your salvation is so beautiful and amazing and logical and is consistent with all the Scriptures without having to bend it and contort it to make it fit this Protestant view. Like any relationship WE have a part to play. We choose daily to Trust our LORD or to trust ourselves. Otherwise we have no free will and God is not a loving God.

Right, great analogy, but here is even a more sure word, as Paul makes it clear that we have nothing to do with either justification, nor sanctification; "And such were some of you: but you are washed, but you are sanctified, but you are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God." These three are by the power of God (his workmanship), not our works, "For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God has before ordained, that we should walk in them." Ephesians 2:10.

Good works are always a result of salvation, not the means to it. You are saved by faith, but also sanctification is at its core a work of the Holy Spirit. Galatians 3: "O foolish Galatians! Who has bewitched you? It was before your eyes that Jesus Christ was publicly portrayed as crucified. 2 Let me ask you only this: Did you receive the Spirit by works of the law or by hearing with faith? 3 Are you so foolish? Having begun by the Spirit, are you now being perfected by the flesh?"

The word "salvation" or saved is not always salvation from sin. In 1 Corinthians 15 1-4 is speaking of Paul's gospel or Paul's salvation message but in that passage "by which ye are saved, you keep in mind" is salvation from the frustration of frustrating the grace of God. Gal.2 [21] I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain. [ Phil. 1 15] Some indeed preach Christ even of envy and strife; and some also of good will: [16] The one preach Christ of contention, not sincerely, supposing to add affliction to my bonds: [17] But the other of love, knowing that I am set for the defence of the gospel. [18] What then? notwithstanding, every way, whether in pretence, or in truth, Christ is preached; and I therein do rejoice, yea, and will rejoice. [19] For I know that this shall turn to MY SALVATION through your prayer, and the supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ, [20] According to my earnest expectation and my hope, that in nothing I shall be ashamed, but that with all boldness, as always, so now also Christ shall be magnified in my body, whether it be by life, or by death. [21] For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain. [22] But if I live in the flesh, this is the fruit of my labour: yet what I shall choose I wot not. [23] For I am in a strait betwixt two, having a desire to depart, and to be with Christ; which is far better: [24] Nevertheless to abide in the flesh is more needful for you. [25] And having this confidence, I know that I shall abide and continue with you all for your furtherance and joy of faith; [26] That your rejoicing may be more abundant in Jesus Christ for me by my coming to you again. [27] Only let your conversation ( LET YOUR LIFESTYLE) be as it becometh the gospel of Christ: that whether I come and see you, or else be absent, I may hear of your affairs, that ye stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel; Phil. 2 is about living out the gospel of grace because Christ died for your salvation, saved from sin and wrath. [12] Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. [13] For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.

It’s unfortunate that Christian’s fail to get the basic foundation of salvation right? If one fails to understand how one is saved, all their other works are useless. If you aren’t saved already, then what foundation are you building on as written in 1 Corinthians 3? When you get to heaven, how will you plea? Will you say, “we did this in your name, we did that in your name” or will you simply say, I trusted in your finished work at the cross to cover my sins and make me righteous? The simple conclusion to what it takes to be justified can be found in the parable of the Pharisee and the the tax collector found in Luke 18:9-14. I pray everyone finds their way. Blessings

Once saved always saved is not Biblical. The Bible tells of names being blotted out if the book of life and it also speaks of falling from grace. If you are saved by grace and you fall from it are you still saved? You can also be anointed with the Holy Spirit but make the choice to turn your back on God and be lost. God never takes away our free will and it's only by abiding in His love that we can have assurance if salvation

Good old OSAS twisting scripture always to fit there false gospel... when St. Paul literally says the word salvation. To work out our Salvation, not that it takes Works to earn the grace. Theres a reason why its translated that way. Bc its literally talking about salvation. The reason why Jesus says in Matthew 12:35-37 on judgment day we will be judged by our words. Matthew 5:16-22 let our light shine with our good works. If not then we shall be in danger of the Hellfire. Same as luke 6:46-49; Matthew 16:27; revelation 2:5; 3:16; & 22:12... We are saved by grace through faith, not our works. Our sanctification and works are PROOF and ASSURANCE of our salvation. That is what 1 John explains. He wants us to be assured of out faith. If we walk as He walked (Jesus); letting His Word light our path, then His blood will cover us. If we wander off the path repeatedly doing sexual sin(s), drunkenness, lying, cheating, stealing....His blood will not cover us. We cannot claim to be of the Spirit yet constantly turn to the flesh for our selfish pleasures. So yes, there is work involved. Work to keep yourself righteous and work to love your neighbor - especially the one that ticks you off.

Ephesians 2:10 says "For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.” Once a person is justified by grace, God has prepared "good works" for that person's sanctification. By "walking" in these good works (they are good, because God is good) we reach eternal life. This verse sets up an obedience test: by not accomplishing these good works, we will be disobeying God and will not reach eternal life. 1 Corinthians 6:9 comes to mind - "Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God?" I believe "the unrighteous" includes "the disobedient," and "the Kingdom of God" means "eternal life." Finally, the phrase "walk in them" brings to mind Enoch 5:24 - "And Enoch walked with God; and he was not, for God took him" because Enoch "pleased God as Hebrews 11:5 says. Isaiah 2:3 also comes to mind - "Many people shall come and say, 'Come, and let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, To the house of the God of Jacob; He will teach us His ways, And we shall walk in His paths.'”

You have to keep reading. Fear and trembling just means "with great reverence" as it is to be in awe of God. It is no different then saying you are "sick and tired." This doesn''t mean you are both ill and exhausted. It means you are very tired. But, verse 13 says, "for it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose." We allow God to live the Christian life in and through us because He is the only one who can live the Christian life. We are called to rest. This is not about any "process of sanctification." To be sanctified means to be set apart. It doesn't mean some continual process of overcoming sin. We are already set apart (sanctified) because of our faith in Jesus Christ and God is no longer counting our sins against us. Therefore, we spend the rest of our lives learning to trust and depend on God as He reveals to us who we already are in Him and the inheritance we have received as a result of our faith in Jesus. We are complete in Christ (Colossians 2:10), not incomplete. We are sanctified and justified by our faith.

I'm sorry, but the Bible tells us that there will be a great falling away and it couldn't be great if these weren't true Christians selling their souls, wanting to spare their lives by bowing down in the Great Tribulation. It IS possible to turn away and our God says that to "shrink back" is an abomination to Him, so we know there will be those who do shrink back, unfortunately. I know many will say those who 'fall away' were never saved, but again, it wouldn't be 'great' or called a 'falling away' if these weren't true Christians falling away from their God. Even, Jesus tells us in John 6:66 (note the number) 66 After this many of his disciples turned back and no longer walked with him.
