Context is everything is it not? The context is spiritual leadership in the church and it’s God ordained structure and order. It has nothing to do with differences in gender, social status, culture, traditions or any other worldly reasons. What God has said and put in place, so shall it be. Surely we will know His purpose when we get to Heaven? Peace be with you, Shalom.

[Galatians 3:28 KJV] [28] There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus. [1 Corinthians 11:3 KJV] [3] But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman [is] the man; and the head of Christ [is] God. Both of these are true. No sexual distinction is to be made as far as salvation (being IN CHRIST) is concerned. A woman can give a man the gospel of God--Priscilla AND Aquilla did this for Apollos (Acts 18:24-26). Yet on earth, in this life, and in the local church, there are sexual distinctions to be made if one is to follow God's will. Headship is a big deal. Priscilla didn't teach Apollos without her head (Aquilla) present. People rail against the transgender stuff while refusing to acknowledge the weak, lacking, or corrupted preaching and teaching on the home that preceded and precedes it. And even fewer acknowledge the broken faith in the Bible that led Christendom to supplement (or supplant) God's Book with intellectualism, emotional experiences, cultural trends, etc. [Matthew 7:24 KJV] [24] Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: [John 6:63 KJV] [63] It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, [they] are spirit, and [they] are life. [Revelation 21:5 KJV] [5] And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful. Jesus Christ is the Word, and He gave us words. Without this foundation, conservatism is just slow-motion liberalism, even in the realm of professing Christianity. Many conservatives today are actually progressives--a generation or two behind. But God is faithful to help us! If we will have Him. [2 Timothy 3:15-17 KJV] [15] And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. [16] All scripture [is] given by inspiration of God, and [is] profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: [17] That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

Women are to teach, just not from the pulpit. Titus 2:3 The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things Proverbs 6:20 My son, keep thy father's commandment, and forsake not the law of thy mother Proverbs 31: 10 Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies. 26 She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness.

This is false, No woman can teach a man about the life of a man. It isnt saying that women can NEVER speak, it means they cannot speak of out position. Meaing they cant hold ANY leadership role unless it explicitly over other women or tending men to support/aid them. The whole points is a man is less likely to conflate Gods word with nonsense because he WANTS to believe something else. Women do not have the same lives as men, it is MEN who ultimate pay the most in this life and determine the direction of the world. Perfect example, Why do you think sucide rates are so high? Why do you think 6 men for every 1 woman is killing themselves? Its because most of the therapist are WOMEN. WOMEN CANNOT LEAD MEN. you fundamentally dont understand and cant, becuase the rest of the bible puts it clearly into context over and over and over. A woman can speak within the body, but she does not pastor, she does not invoke the word of God... she has a father, husband or brother who advocates for her because most women arnt held to the same standards as men which are extremely high.

There is a feature in Biblical interpretation called the law of first mention. When a name is mentioned first it is most likely more important. However, there is also another aspect to the law of first mention. The first mention of something or someone in scripture becomes the benchmark of what we know about that person or principle. The first time we are introduced to Priscilla she is simply the wife of Aquila the Jew. So, to argue that Priscilla was more prominent, the better communicator or some other reason on the basis of order is exegetically irresponsible. Frank your doing the Turek shuffle again, side stepping the truth.

Everything this man said in how he phrased his words is a lie. No surprise coming from CE, women can pray and prophesy in church, but not speak as to teach/preach. Nowhere in scripture do we see Priscilla “teaching” anybody anything. Nor do we see in the N.T women teaching in an open forum. Pricilla/Aquila pulling Apollos aside was out of concern, not public exhortation. Ask yourself who did the talking? What did Priscilla or Aquilla say to Apollos? We are not given who said what or specifically what they said, other than “they” took Apollos aside and explained. But so many have changed the Word of God by presumption and ignored specifics in the passage. Once again, another example of those advocating for women in authority. Pulling someone aside is not congregational or classroom teaching, much less exegetical teaching. Furthermore, the passage tells us who actually did the teaching, Apollos.

No one has mentioned the inherent differences in make up, gifting, grounding, calling, bent, divine bias and construction of the very soul of men and women (to just brush past the very tip of the iceberg of differences). Just as God is ONE and is male and female togeth, man was separated and a rib, or side, part or aspect, of the whole was removed and placed into a different but complementary form. Joining these two and sharing family gives a greater understanding to children of the complete nature of God, but I digress. The man has the ruling giftings (women have some but less). Women have the nurturing giftings (men have some, but less). Eve was more quickly deceived, but Adam made the major blunder surrendering mankind to sin by surrendering his authority. Bottom line: God IS love, but all in His kingdom operates based on authority, submission, obedience and humility. When men humbly love and wives humbly honor, and all men and women generally love, honor and obey God's authorities and commands, the body of Christ works. Any arrogant taking of authority is forbidden. Those who will be greatest among you let them be your servants. These are hard sayings and not understood by all. Blessings...

Yes, Paul is usually pretty egalitarian regarding women. That's one of the reasons why many people don't think Paul wrote the Timothy epistles. The difference in attitude towards women is stark. Compare 1 Corinthians 7 to 1 Timothy 2:15. Regardless, don't use the egalitarian passages to try to justify the misogynistic passages. Just because _some_ passages are reasonable, doesn't mean all passages should be accepted at reasonable.

I don't like this view on Apollos being taught, as you phrase it, "by women", which is misleading because Apollos was taught by a Husband and Wife. The scripture you're referring to is Acts 18:26 Acts 18:26 - "And he (Apollos) began to speak boldly in the synagogue: whom when AQUILA and PRISCILLA (Husband and Wife) had heard, they took him (Apollos) unto THEM, and expounded unto him (Apollos) the way of God more perfectly.

Acts 2:17 does not say "in the church." Stop adding to the Bible. 1 Corinthians 14:34 is unmistakable: Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience, as also saith the law.

From my current understanding, it is specifically the pastoral role that is male-only, as the church, like the family, has male headship, and women can teach and lead in other roles in the church, including teaching men. If I am incorrect in any way about this then I pray that the Holy Spirit reveal it to me but from what I have studied that is what I understand as the Biblical position. It is important to keep in mind that Paul did not phrase things delicately or in a way that is winsome to our current PC-obsessed culture. God bless all of you at cross examined for your ministry and I pray that we grow ever deeper in God's Word!
