My auntie drank from a toilet cause they gave her water once a day. We keep a meticulous record of our family members in our oral tradition. It's ingrained in us...where are our our missing relatives who went to a residential school and never returned? My friend witnessed a priest strangle her pregnant sister in the middle of the night while watching threw a second story window . There are accounts of charred remains being found. Some of my family who are NONnative , im a halfbreed, did not even know these schools existed until this came out in the mainstream media cause u can bet it's not taught in schools as history.WE DO NOT expect and an apology from the nonindian community, we EXPECT that it be recognised only so that it can't happen again and we can continue on our healing journey.
