I’ve always had the same viewpoint on debating with civility and respect, but Vivek articulates this very well, and like I said, even managed to get people that most would look at as too far gone to open their minds. Trump has way too much derangement brought upon him to be able to unify and merge the majority of the left into the right concerning the break up of this mainstream divisive mentality in America today. Most leftists also look at Trumps approach as an attack, and even if the people he exposes deserve it, all it does is throw gas on the flames of division within our country. Yes, respect is earned, but if we don’t get rid of this concept in relation to politics then our country will never reach a unified state again, and this is a terrible yet undeniable fact. If our party as republicans and even independents continue to have this perspective then we will act as a mirror and this issue will become exponentially worst, as it already is. How are we any different or better than the people that treat us with evil behavior if we do the same back at them? We’re not.. On X after the election I attempted to share this perspective, and I got nothing but pushback from everyone else on the right.
