It's not a rifled barrel, using friction to cause the projectile to rotate as it moves forward. This wouldn't help much anyway. For the maximum distance of any slingshot, the accuracy will depend on the weight of the projectile. Adding a spin would only help if it was also able to travel much farther. Using heavier ammunition would increase accuracy because the inertia would be able to overcome the air resistance better but then gravity will shorten the distance. It has to be barely touching the ball bearing.
