These 5 tips are what I have tried to teach Christians for years. I am an ex-Mormon. My biggest challenge with Christians is that they don't know WHY they believe what they do & how to defend it. They also don't really care enough to learn how to defend their own faith. Some "Christians" are no better off than a Witness! These "Christians" have simply accepted something they have been taught without knowing why it's true. Most Witnesses & Mormons are better equipped than Christians. It's sad!

I studied for JW for about 3 years but it got to the point where I started asking questions that contridicted their teachings. The more I did so the further away they became toward me. I was pretty much cut off. I will say they are very kind people and I actually did learn alot from them but there was always this small percentage of their teachings that didn't make sense as I looked into it.

Good stuff, Melissa! I’ve certainly been guilty of allowing the conversation to become too uncomfortable, putting the JW on the defensive. And each time it just shuts them down. So yes…play the student! Allow them to do the talking while simply asking questions, and allow the Holy Spirit do His work in them.

1. With the spirit of kindness, feel confident engaging with either a Jehovah’s Witness or Mormon. 2. But keep in mind that both of these pseudo-Christian theologies do not consider the canon of the historic Judeo-Christian Bible to be their primary authority. 3. With Jehovah’s Witnesses, it is the writings of their founder, Charles Taze Russell. 4. With Mormons, the writings of Joseph Smith. 5. So understand upfront that these are misled people—not bad people. 6. It is also helpful if you are already “armed” with a foundational knowledge of what both of these faiths believe. 7. If you have the time, let them speak first with their rehearsed script. 8. At some point, they will stop to ask you a question. 9. That will be your opportunity to share the Gospel with them. 10. You showed you were patient while listening to them, so they should pay you the same curtesy. 11. Politely & confidently preface your comments with “I believe…” 12. “I believe in the divinity of Jesus Christ.” 13. “I believe faith alone in Jesus Christ is what saves an individual—not works.” 14. “I believe works are a fruit of the redeemed heart & mind—not the requirement for salvation.” 15. “I believe once an individual with a sincere & contrite heart accepts Jesus Christ as their Lord & Savior, he/she has passed from Death to Life—and no one can take that status away from them.” 16. At this point, they will likely attempt to refute your points by referencing their flawed interpretation of certain Scripture citations. 17. Simply say: “I believe God’s Word to Man is contained within the unadulterated, historic, Judeo-Christian Bible.” 18. “I’m quite familiar with those citations, and I believe the correct interpretation of them support the true Gospel I just shared with you.” 19. Once the Jehovah’s Witness or Mormon is convinced your are no longer a prospect for conversion, THEY will end further conversation. 20. Remember, we plant the seeds, God reaps the harvest. 21. We bring the Gospel to their ears, God brings it into their hearts. 🙏

<<@STROND

It will be very hard for you to convice any JW's while you still continue to promote the CROSS....The instrument that Jesus died on was just that, a torture instrument, and all the evidence points to the fact that Jesus did not doe on a cross but rather a "upright pole of stake" ! An important reason is that Jesus Christ did not die on a cross. The Greek word generally translated “cross” is stau·ros′. It basically means “an upright pale or stake.” The Companion Bible points out: “[Stau·ros′] never means two pieces of timber placed across one another at any angle . . . There is nothing in the Greek of the [New Testament] even to imply two pieces of timber.” In several texts, Bible writers use another word for the instrument of Jesus’ death. It is the Greek word xy′lon. (Acts 5:30; 10:39; 13:29; Galatians 3:13; 1 Peter 2:24) This word simply means “timber” or “a stick, club, or tree.” The most convincing proof of all, however, comes from God’s Word. The apostle Paul says: “Christ by purchase released us from the curse of the Law by becoming a curse instead of us, because it is written: ‘Accursed is every man hanged upon a stake [“a tree,” King James Version].’” (Galatians 3:13) Here Paul quotes Deuteronomy 21:22, 23, which clearly refers to a stake, not a cross. Since such a means of execution made the person “a curse,” it would not be proper for Christians to decorate their homes with images of Christ impaled. So if there was a chance that this is true it means that people are putting Jesus onto a pagan symbol!

You have to be ready to be their best friend and introduce them to a new community. Many of them also could have personality disorders such as histrionic personality disorder as those with this disorder are easily fooled into joining cults. The JW “religion” brainwashes and isolates members from their families. They tell them that if they are Christians or any other religion that they could throw a demon at them and get them banned from everlasting life (their version of the afterlife). If other members find different religious material at their house- they will tattle in them and get them kicked out of their JW religious community. It’s tough to minister to someone who is in a cult.
