Christ came at an opportune time to clarify truth to a world that had plenty of time to distort and forget (I half-hazardly use the "telephone" argument some are privy to this favor.) Debatable sure. But personally I find the patterns of behavior present in both secular and religious circles too convincing too ignore the need of the void in the human soul. We cling to heroes both fictional and nonfictional, too hope in a life evident more than a billion times over the course of history to end, and predicted to end "surely" [universal heat death] Unless someone has a functional plan for immortality, then the best plausible option I believe is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. While follow our heart is nice, pressupposing goodness. Not all hearts are pure, so that ideal cannot be applied to everyone.
