I'd suggest that every ex Christian who is now an atheist would have made the same claim as Bobby - "Atheism is absurd". The funny thing is, think of how many believers who actually doubt all kinds of things about God, including the very existence of God. Yet believers who finally reach that conclusion and become atheists, are called "absurd". Why not "sensible"? After all, what is the point of trying to believe in God, just so that Bobby and other Christians won't deem you to be absurd, just because you took their own doubts to a final but negative conclusion? If only believers like Bobby were a tad more humble. As for hubris? Well many believers need to read their bibles. Many verses inform believers that outside of their faith, other people are miserable, fools, dupes of Satan, in darkness, tellers of lies and in bad need of saving so that they become Christians. And of course, many Christians are not at all backward in proclaiming themselves apart from the evil and wicked world. Given this, there is little point in accusing atheists of hubris.
