Its rarely effective. I only found it useful in one on one duals with dual bladed opponents such as Ninth Sister (obviously) and the purge trooper with a staff. Other than that, I feel like all other stances in the game are superior. There are a few moments in the game where its useful but like I said only against a select few opponents. One of them is said to be a slicing expert yet we don't see her do any of that. The twins only get to push down one bridge and the guy whose supposed to be a veteran pilot was unable to escape via flying a ship. That was so underwhelming and the feelings that Cal had for them feel forced sadly. The gameplay is wonderful and I like that Cal did not hesitate to set the 9th Sister "free".
