Thank you, Tom.>> <<@Aesylum_JDL says : Bruzza, you can't tell me Iboga would be okay to give someone who struggles with anxiety (and LIKELY panic attacks). Any drastic change in consciousness, lack of control would lead to a crazy horrible traumatizing experience. I have GAD, I can't even handle marijuana... IBOGA?>> <<@esratruxillo1976 says : Read Gurdjieff.>> <<@denny3161 says : Ok, look, just watching this guys forehead is Awesome!>> <<@bikramperhar1646 says : I had a chance to have lunch with Dr dan and this guy is super smart>> <<@skyfly120 says : Not vibing with the, "three minutes with your sister" line of inquiry.>> <<@YourCapyFrenBigly_3DPipes1999 says : So for govt bootlickers I don't know what to say to wake them up from their slavery cult, but words cannot describe how much hate I have for the feds in this country. It is not ignorance, they are intentional malicious sadistic criminals. Everyone has known for generations weed is a wholly harmless plant and even if it wasn't it's NOT the government's PLACE to control MY body and MY personal choices! And yet we STILL have a harmless plant listed as a dangerous substance, worse than meth. Similarly psychedelics are mostly benign provided you pursue them with a little common sense but even if they weren't it's still not the government's place to play fascist Darth Vader Mommy and Daddy and to tell us what we can and cannot touch of our own free will. Outrageous and appalling. It's unacceptable. I mean for those who want to be controlled and dictated to from a higher authority because they can't think for themselves, have at it. I do not! The drug war of course is one of the most evil things that the govt has ever come up with, but you can't commit mass incarceration, mass murder, and national grand larceny to the tune of billions without it, you just can't. And that's why nothing changes. Its the greatest crime against humanity since the atom bomb. I am SO sick of the feds it is my dearest dream that they all exit in a fire someday. They are fascists, control freaks, unstable unhinged psychopaths, filth. They all deserve to exit violently in a blaze and I just wish I was there to see it. If they all go up in flames one day, it will well-deserved a million times over. The drug war is the most racist evil vicious sadistic thing that these monsters could have ever come up with short of gitmo and black sites and MOVE and their political prisoners. Yes Nixon and Reagan were deeply at fault but there were scores of others around them who informed them and were even guiltier than they in getting this national disgrace and generational tyranny going. One of them has even managed to slime his way back into the POTUS chair today. I'm an ADULT. No human being on EARTH has the right to control me or my body under ANY circumstances, short of intervening if I'm causing intentional harm to another human being, the planet, or an animal, or to enforce property rights. Short of that there is NO ONE who has a right to control me as if I'm a piece of property. Absolutely no one. Same for everyone else on Earth. If I wish to use a drug or substance that is my right. If I wished to sell them to a consenting buyer that is my right. If I wish to purchase them from a consenting seller THAT IS MY F**KING RIGHT!! Government itself is just a deeply evil entity when it oversteps its bounds from a public organizational and management tool into a fascist and satanic tyrannical dictatorial savage cruel hate-filled violence-loving tool of death and destruction. Dth to the feds. Dth to DC. Dth to fascists everywhere. We live under a serious dictatorship in the US and I know I'm not the only one who sees it. Don't people want to wake up and take their power back?>> <<@YourCapyFrenBigly_3DPipes1999 says : Psychedelics, MDMA, and iboga have saved and turned around countless lives. It's amazing what the natural world can do for us if we use our common sense and work with it not against it.>> <<@DeadbeatGamer says : this is under viewed>> <<@Alexandra-hd5oi says : Really insensitive way for Tom to approach this.>> <<@DavidPace says : A few thoughts in brief about this episode, which is full of mind blowing constuctive contrast. 1. My theory on the "shrooms effect" is that it is doing to our neurons exactly what it does in nature, which is being the "conduit" between themselves and other organisms for a shared enlightened awareness . (Look it up). 2. The bad trip vs the healing trip is not only a predisposition based on real life experience & beliefs, its also the reasons those predispositions exist in the first place. 3. Both side of the argument, between the research about "past lives" vs "hallucinating an excuse" for not shaking the Dr's hand examples are plausible. My theory is based on documented research on mice that learned the path through a maze from their parents and grandparents experiences with that maze, before the siblings were born.>> <<@guzgrant says : Excellent point on the use of psychedelics for mental issues . I believe they are not some enlightening poetic gateway but are similar to what happens if you hit the nadir of a depression and survive it . There is an epiphany moment followed by the adaptation of a strengthening and freeing of the mind having given way to but endured that peak anxiety and not as such the magic and mysticism of the process . There is a Plato Cave type moment where because of that moment of focused peak anxiety being felt that rock bottom moment , a competence has been attained so that a person is confident should it happen again they could ride it out . Removing that aspect of fear is what frees the mind .>> <<@Dreamscupltor says : A spiritual “practice” is a religion. Once you put the spiritual insights; the teachings into practice, it becomes your religion. It’s disingenuous to say you practice something that enriches your spirit and say it isn’t a religion.>> <<@Mysucculentchinesemeal says : 44:29 Still neither of them mentioned neural plasticity and the generation of new neural pathways as well as repair of old ones.>> <<@bitchplease1114 says : 26:29 Dr. Dan just explained a deep implication, that I think Tom, while being VERY smart, agile, nevertheless, just by lacking the experience, couldn't catch the thought, and rushed forward to pass that moment, despite Dan just trying to explain a minute ago how and why this kind of approach is not really dealing with the problem itself.>> <<@zonzzo says : The game is: 21% of the air is oxygen and a collapse of 19.5% is already harmful to humans, 16% is suffocating. And the only thing that produces more oxygen is plants. His self absorption and self greatness will be knocked down some pegs eventually. We all die and none of us get to escape that. I think Engle is a kind sweet man. I suffer from chronic pain and need a little spirituality and hope so thank you. I think he can stop himself from being emotional. I can't assign meaning to dead children. Before a Ukrainian soldier was shot by the enemy he had a cigarette and calmly smoked and said "Glory to Ukraine." It was beautiful and gave this soldier meaning to fight for freedom for his country.>> <<@kayligo says : You guys are talking about the mushrooms like they are easy to get. Even in Oregon where they are working to make them more available it will be very expensive once available legally. So telling someone to "just try shrooms" is about as useful as telling them to "just become a millionaire". Money and health are heavy factors in most people's decisions to end it and if you really want to help them, give them the shrooms yourself instead of telling them to go on a difficult mission. Just a thought.>> <<@dankelly says : How? You sold me after five minutes. Why are there still apes and why wouldn’t they still be evolving 😂 I went to public school but damit man evolution is really a dumb idea.>> <<@jeffgraham5624 says : Tom: My two cents. I have followed you for a long time. I even hired you for a speech for my employees during covid. Take this for what it is worth. I struggled with this episode. Why? You dominated the interview. You spoke more often than your guest. I didn't get to know your guest because you dominated the entire interview. Why even have him on your show? I wanted to hear from him but, respectfully, I heard more from you that from him. You don't need to be the smartest guy in the room.>> <<@andrewcarlin4597 says : Tom talks too much…>> <<@realnicholasgomez says : It's so funny to watch Tom host guests that think outside of his box.>> <<@captaincoconut457 says : I would genuinely enjoy a movie about today's guest!>> <<@Michael-wy7om says : Where does someone get a micro dose of mushrooms? Just brilliant done! They remove the anchor. You are then left with everything and nothing and you won't know if what you end up with is better or worst than what you were anchored to until you ride that wave, but you will know that there is far more beyond where you have been standing for a long time.!!! Spot on! I think people wanna go for the ride with fingers crossed. Back then, We used one of those vaporizers with the big bags. The first time I didn't do enough and I just seen shapes and colours. But the second time I managed to get another hit in before I got the light headed. I remember floating above the country side flying and then all of a sudden I zoomed down into a deer and went right inside of it and I was the veins and the blood and flowing through this deers body. Dude is hyper neurotic, suffers from inability to be with the unknown. He needs to explain effing everything. Bro, chill out. Your logic is your defense. these guys who hide behind the "physics" and "science" are ridiculous. Dude, take some mushrooms so then you won't ask silly questions like how did she know it is true? Wtf!!!? What does it even mean? Is my experience of you being a neurotic person striving for perfection and suffering as a result of that "the truth"? You are offensive af. And as people said, zero sensitivity to the guy sitting in front of you, interrupting him. You need to always show how smart you are. Sometimes you sound the exact opposite. "I want for it to be truth". "I am about efficacy." "I have a worldwide that is optimised for efficacy" 😂😂😂 You sound ridiculous 😂😂 You were devoutly Christian, belived in a virgin getting impregnated, in knowledge being a sin or what. You are telling him - go for your worldview. He does not need your approval😂 Would be interesting to see if younare vaccinated..if you signed up for the mass psychosis. There is your data, there is your truth. If you belived in your so called truth you would have not gotten the jab.>> <<@kbs7340 says : Too many commercial disruptions have made me stop watching.
