Mixing a Santa claus worship also came from the catholic religion. When your children have to open their gifts under a tree, they have to bow down to receive the gift, this is idolizing, they are not thinking about Yashua (Jesus) when opening up there gift, maybe santa claus. We ought to worship Yashua (Jesus) the way He wants us to worship Him, read your bible and pray. It seemed like I was targeting Christmas all around including the birth of Jesus—I wasnt. Then, I didn’t understand how Jesus could be mixed in with other pagan rituals. After some thought and actually going to a Christmas Eve service, I started crying because I felt His presence there. I realized Christmas is actually a GOOD, RIGHTEOUS HOLY DAY. We are celebrating His birth and the fact that He saved us and we can see in dark times because He is here. He is the Light of the World! But the other things like Christmas trees and Santa are abominations. THOSE things are idols. He doesn’t wants us to mix evil with good like the Tree of Good and Evil. Why does He hate it so much? Here is why: It is like you are being a prostitute even though you are already, symbolically, married to Him. It’s a roller coaster of emotions for Him and He wants ALL of your attention. Would you be ok with your wife/husband sleeping with others? This is what the whole book of Hosea is about. God commands Hosea to marry a prostitute to give a picture of God feels about what His children, today, following the Whore of Babylon, the most disgusting prostitute of all( Revelation 17:5). I was not coming against Christ in any way but rather the idolatries of this world promoted the whore, the merchants, the antichrist system, which sadly rules this Earth and many don’t know it( or at least they are too scared to say something). So everything above is a more accurate message of what I was trying to say below. To put it short, Christmas is pagan. God does not want His children to celebrate it. People do it anyway because it has been "christianized". They claim it is holy because it remembers Christ's birth which is wonderful!!! Jesus was actually conceived in December. BUT combining paganism with Christianity is what Bible calls lukewarmness, the tree of good and evil. God wants you to either worship Him or ALL THE WAY or not. I never have celebrated Christmas before and I can see that must be hard to let go. The bible is clear that it condemns Christmas and that "you must not worship the Lord God the heathens do" I am asking you to choose Him or traditions>> <<@ta3p-theannex3project84 says : Sint Nicolaas i a dutch tradition, held 5 december. There are equally sincere and committed Christians on both sides of the issue, each with multiple reasons why or why not Christmas should be celebrated in Christian homes. But what does the Bible say? Does the Bible give clear direction as to whether Christmas is a holiday to be celebrated by Christians? First, let’s look at the reasons why some Christians do not celebrate Christmas. One argument against Christmas is that the traditions surrounding the holiday have origins in paganism. Searching for reliable information on this topic is difficult because the origins of many of our traditions are so obscure that sources often contradict one another. Bells, candles, holly, and yuletide/yule decorations are mentioned in the history of pagan worship, but the use of such in one’s home certainly does not indicate a return to paganism. While there are definitely pagan roots to some traditions, there are many more traditions associated with the true meaning of Christmas—the birth of the Savior of the world in Bethlehem. Bells are played to ring out the joyous news, candles are lit to remind us that Christ is the Light of the world (John 1:4-9), a star is placed on the top of a Christmas tree to remember the Star of Bethlehem, and gifts are exchanged to remind us of the gifts of the Magi to Jesus, the greatest gift of God to mankind. Another argument against Christmas, especially having a Christmas tree, is that the Bible forbids bringing trees into our homes and decorating them. The passage often cited is Jeremiah 10:1-16, (but this is OLD TESTAMENT and Christians aren’t bound by OLD LAW) but this passage refers to cutting down trees, chiseling the wood to make an idol, and then decorating the idol with silver and gold for the purpose of bowing down before it to worship it (see also Isaiah 44:9-18 ALSO OLD LAW). The passage in Jeremiah cannot be taken out of its context and used to make a legitimate argument against Christmas trees. Christians who choose to ignore Christmas point to the fact that the Bible doesn’t give us the date of Christ’s birth, which is certainly true. December 25 may not be even close to the time Jesus was born, and arguments on both sides are legion, some relating to climate in Israel, the practices of shepherds in winter, and the dates of Roman census-taking. None of these points are without a certain amount of conjecture, which brings us back to the fact that the Bible doesn’t tell us when Jesus was born. Some see this as proof positive that God didn’t want us to celebrate the birth, while others see the Bible’s silence on the issue as tacit approval. Some Christians say that since the world celebrates Christmas—although it is becoming more and more politically correct to refer to it as “the holidays”—Christians should avoid it. But that is the same argument made by false religions that deny Christ altogether, as well as cults such as the Jehovah’s Witnesses who deny His deity. Those Christians who do celebrate Christmas often see the occasion as an opportunity to proclaim Christ as “the reason for the season” among the nations and to those trapped in false religions. As we have seen, there is no legitimate scriptural reason not to celebrate Christmas. At the same time, there is no biblical mandate to celebrate it, either. In the end, of course, whether or not to celebrate Christmas is a personal decision. Whatever Christians decide to do regarding Christmas, their views should not be used as a club with which to beat down or denigrate those with opposing views, nor should either view be used as a badge of honor inducing pride over celebrating or not celebrating. As in all things, we seek wisdom from Him who gives it liberally to all who ask (James 1:5) and accept one another in Christian love and grace, regardless of our views on Christmas.>> <<@Zevelyon says : Its Saturnalia and Yule. The stories are obviously Christian, but the history behind it is no secret. It was PR by the church. Saturnalia was incredibly popular. The date is December 25th because of the winter solstice. The death and rebirth of the sun. You can celebrate Christmas, the early church obviously came up with it because there was nothing inherently wrong with it, but the traditions are Christianizations of pagan holidays. Jesus was not born in December. That doesn't mean you can't celebrate his birth whenever you want, but there is no reason to celebrate Christmas other than you like it and want to. Or vice versa. It's not inherently Christian or Pagan. But it should be said if you buy into the consumerist cult on Christmas then it's pretty explicitly pagan.>> <<@StruckDownNotDestroyed says : Every year people show up here saying we shouldn't celebrate Christmas because of its alleged pagan origins. Well, who cares about what pagans worship. Christians worship God and we can celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ with trees, lights, decorations, gifts, music and family. If some want to opt out, then do so. For the rest of us, have a very Merry Christmas in Jesus holy name.>> <<@RobROSjr says : Most of the people i see making this claim about Christmas being pagan are either non-believers trying to get believers to feel guilty about celebrating it, or believers who use it as an excuse for celebrating halloween.>> <<@Nml52694 says : Stop trying to mix the holy with the profane.>> <<@jordanmeyers2353 says : Merry Christmas everyone!>> <<@steelcity6420 says : I agree that it's okay to set aside this day to praise Jesus but be careful about things like Santa Claus.
