You can't understand spiritual truths if the Spirit is not guiding you, pray for understanding.>> <<@ronniebozeman5059 says : Beautiful answer>> <<@AhyawabYasharahla says : Dr. Turek will never have a discussion with Israelites, i would love to see him have a discourse with GOCC Elders. He wouldn't dare...😂>> <<@hots4jc says : HOLD ON…the Bible is not that complicated. You don’t have to know all that this guy is saying to understand BECAUSE the Holy Spirit is the teacher. So don’t get overwhelmed by this guy on how he studies the Bible. Remember the Disciples were unlearned fishermen. Ask the Holy Spirit to be your teacher and He will guide you into all truth.>> <<@hots4jc says : We always say…”One interpretation, many applications”.>> <<@paulrock4816 says : Another famous comment is your taking the verse out of content. Anything to make your rebuttal less.>> <<@Tyler-Clark says : First rule in biblical interpretation: 1) the Bible cannot mean to you what it didn't mean to the original audience>> <<@kurooaisu says : This technique can work for any type of literature, really. We need to STOP, slow down and understand the author's POV on why they write things the way they are>> <<@Mark-cd2wf says : The Bible is the story of God’s redemption of man. Mormonism flatly contradicts clear Scriptural teaching by being polytheistic, denying the Virgin Birth of Christ, and claiming that the universe is eternal (to name a few). No amount of “interpretation” or translating can square these beliefs with Scripture. Mormonism is the invention of a con-man named Joseph Smith, is in no way Christian, and is to be rejected as a heretical cult.>> <<@iancampbell2295 says : If it doesn't make sense you can bet your life it's a lie! Not one bit of the bible, or any other religion for that matter makes any sense. Religion is there for one reason, to make you a slave, control your desires and decisions. I won't be controlled by anyone, least of all an invisible god who inflicts pain and suffering on millions of people daily. It may be a very nice life in America, where you can indulge such fantasies, but there are places on earth where people cling to life , your god shows no interest in helping them, why, because he doesn't exist!>> <<@NewCreationInChrist896 says : 1 John 3:2-3 “Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is. And everyone who has this hope in Him purifies himself, just as He is pure.”>> <<@CwazyCanadianSmilingTomKat says : @Bonesy a.k.a. james w You said - *"It's why I don't lie. You are the narcissistic one here not me. Try again little liar."* - Just a friendly reminder *Bonesy.* We've already straightened out who the little narcissistic liar is Bones, which clearly has been you, over and over and over. Here you go again in case you haven't seen it, ~ ~ @Bonesy   - *"It's ok Timmy there is easily triggered. And is a chronic liar. And a narcissist"* - That's quite the projection *again* coming from the guy who lives on this channel with the excuse of, what was it again, claiming to bring Christians your truth! Claiming to have a truth of his own to bring Christians! You've been a long time on this channel bringing Christians your beliefs, haven't you bonesy? Only someone living in a triggered state lives like you, unable to stay away from something you have absolutely zero belief in. You have a chronic habit of projecting your own attributes onto other Christians on a regular basis which ironically leads to your last projection of, - *"He obviously cares a great deal about anyone who disagrees with him."* - That is the ultimate of projections from a guy who invests the amount of hours you have on a channel that you disagree with. Seeing the projection yet Bones? It doesn't get much clearer how narcissistic an individual is when they're so triggered by others beliefs that they live on a channel they have no beliefs in, claiming to bring everyone who disagrees with him, *HIS TRUTH.* Try again bonesy... ~ ~ Still nice to see the monumental impact Christianity has on your life Bones.>> <<@livingmombirth4005 says : Dr. Turek has presented a super over simplification of a very complex issue. There are over 45,000 different christian churches because earnest and honest people can and do come to different understandings of what the Bible means on critical points. For example, the doctrine of sola escritura is not to be found in the Bible. Also, as far as I can tell exegesis means to interpret the Bible in light of the noncannonical Christian creeds established by men not by God.>> <<@davidplummer2619 says : With the bible -- or with ANY book or text -- if it's all about interpretation, what need is there for the book or text? It's a good thing we don't do this with road signs or labels on containers of hazardous materials.>> <<@WeakestAvenger1 says : The existence of a plethora of translations is not really about interpretations of the Bible. Most of them can be boiled down to a different intended audience (which is also tied to issues of translation philosophy).>> <<@xaviertorres1685 says : Only in catholicism you can find the original interpretation, from the apostles to the church fathers to the bishops and so on, protestantism is just the pastors opinion in turn.>> <<@harryfaber says : Is everybody ready to celebrate June? The month we dedicate to the Sacred Heart of Jesus?>> <<@Summersblues1 says : The Trinity is not in the Bible !! It assumed !>> <<@jimkearns534 says : If scripture can up to us to interpret, then anyone could interpret the bible anyway they want to, but is that what God gave us? A scripture that can be taken any way the reader wants to take it? No.>> <<@joshuapizarro says : This is very important. Thank you.>> <<@daltonbrasier5491 says : No matter what conclusion you come to on a specific scripture, you had to interpret that scripture to understand the meaning. Thats what "interpret" means; to understand or to explain the meaning.>> <<@williamgipson7693 says : As an ex Mormon, that is a great response to Mormon folks!>> <<@Acts19girl says : She meant "translation" not "interpret." LDS are always saying that the Bible has been translated wrong.>> <<@slchambers1 says : The King James 1611 has been relevant for 400+ years. Read it, study it, believe it. God said it>> <<@notebene9791 says : Dr. Turek is a great defender of the faith. When Mormons try to discredit the the Bible (which they claim is one of their four great standard works) one of their methods is conflating different versions/translations of the Bible with being mere opinions. Most Mormons have no understanding of how the process of translating any document from one language to another language is actually performed. Example: translating the works of Dante -The Divine Comedy; The Inferno, Purgatory and Paradise from 14th century Italian to modern English. Translation is more than simply performing a one to one word exchange, i.e. verbatim. Old cultural idioms in Italian would have no meaning, sentence structure is completely different, etc. Mormons and others, claim that one person wrote something then somebody else took that writing and wrote something else and so on, completely false. The King James Bible, commissioned by King James I, aka, James VI of Scotland used a team of 47 of the best scholars over the course of 7 years using the best sources available at the time which were Masoretic Hebrew, Aramaic, Syriatic, Greek, etc. Today, because of numerous archaeological discoveries translators have even more documentation and early fragments to enhance some of the more modern translations. By contrast, the Book of Mormon was allegedly translated by Joseph Smith. He claims to have translated the Book of Mormon from golden plates that the angel Moroni showed him and that he dictated it word by word to his friend/scribe Oliver Cowdery. Then the angel magically took the golden plates back. Cowdey said he never saw the golden plates, in fact, no one ever saw the golden plates “in the flesh” except Joseph Smith. Since it was God himself that showed Smith what to say and Cowdery would repeat what he wrote down, the Book of Mormon was supposed to be the most accurate book on the earth. Yet, since the first edition of the Book of Mormon until today more than 4,000 changes have been made to the Book of Mormon. Finding a first edition of the Book of Mormon is incredibly difficult due to the fact that the The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormon’s) has destroyed all available copies (they still exist in private collections). I hope some find this helpful.>> <<@rubynarapareddy4124 says : S. T. O. P. Wonderful method. Thank you so much.>> <<@bryan5327 says : I really wish i could have been there in person. I'm also in Utah>> <<@EasternOrthodoxChristian says : Is the firmament the sky or atmosphere>> <<@andreydranicheru5955 says : This question is often raised on the "askcliffe" channel - what proof is there that the Bible is true? Look. One of the points he brings up is exactly what was being said here - literary style.>> <<@harrykimura says : Sorry champion! This is exactly why Protestantism is so ridiculous. 95% of the time we can correctly interpret scripture? Even if that was true (which it isn't) then what about the 5%? That's enough for any protestant to go out and make his own denomination. COME BACK TO THE CATHOLIC CHURCH. STOP BEING YOUR OWN POPES>> <<@Kitiwake says : One Authority to interpret God's word.>> <<@jsphfalcon says : this is why it is good to know the writings of the apostolic fathers and what their interpretation were.>> <<@jcw3195 says : The "Bible" was written by Jews, for Jews, about Jews. So called "Christians" have played word games with translations over the centuries to meet and satisfy their own agendas. So don't think you can impress me with your latest bullsh*t.>> <<@tosuchino6465 says : "…95% of the time you're gonna know exactly what it means." Interestingly, that is Turek's interpretation.>> <<@seanpittaway5341 says : That was some waffle 😂 lots of people follow Christianity different as they do in other religions but this man is correct, the arrogance of little men>> <<@sdnlawrence5640 says : The most important thing I learned in (sbc) seminary: "It can never mean what it never meant.">> <<@cheanlamazing says : Why do you look so young dr. Frank?? Im not being rude or something.>> <<@Gek1177 says : This is an incredibly weasely answer. I'm shocked Frank, an educated theologian, would stoop to "nuh uhn you are" as a defence of the fact that people interpret the Bible differently.>> <<@sonofode902 says : STOP eh, I like it.>> <<@SuttonCreative says : I’m going to remember the STOP techniques, really useful. 👍>> <<@dragonsigner says : I prefer a word for word translation of bible..not thought for thought..a literal translation than the other>> <<@dragonsigner says : Ok I want to join this class on how to interpret the bible.>> <<@MrFirstdance2000 says : The simplicity of straight forward scripture is not what is difficult. It is what God's word ask of us that is difficult for most. Contextual Christianity is what we should understand in scripture.>> <<@dragonsigner says : Dang I like the stop method. Context is everything too I guess. I'll add that too perspective is everything ..>> <<@dragonsigner says : Perspective is everything..there can be a million different perspectives. But only one true perspective.the right/correct perspective. It how's you see something or someone.. Sure there are people who have come to Christ because they may have misread or read a verse a certain way .and that may not of been the correct way to read it . but..do we discount there way of reading it . It that was the soul reason it brought them to Christ... The world does Work many ways not just one way.. but the Bible/God/Jesus are not of this world. They are the one true way, all other ways came from Him>> <<@TheRastacabbage says : The trinity, is an 'interpretation' found no where in scripture>> <<@EdwardRomanOficial says : In your current position, how does speaking against the opposite position (and I’m talking about some of you) benefit you?>>
