(b) Three (1 Chronicles 21:12). Contradiction #5 How old was Ahaziah when he began to rule over Jerusalem? (a) Twenty-two (2 Kings 8:26). (b) Forty-two (2 Chronicles 22:2). Contradiction #6 How old was Jehoiachin when he became king of Jerusalem? (a) Eighteen (2 Kings 24:8). (b) Eight (2 Chronicles 36:9). Contradiction #7 How long did he rule over Jerusalem? (a) Three months (2 Kings 24:8). (b) Three months and ten days (2 Chronicles 36:9). Contradiction #8 The chief of the mighty men of David lifted up his spear and killed how many men at one time? (a) Eight hundred (2 Samuel 23:8). (b) Three hundred (1 Chronicles 11:11). Contradiction #9 When did David bring the Ark of the Covenant to Jerusalem? Before defeating the Philistines or after? (a) After (2 Samuel 5 and 6). (b) Before (1 Chronicles 13 and 14). Contradiction #10 How many pairs of clean animals did God tell Noah to take into the Ark? (a) Two (Genesis 6:19, 20). (b) Seven (Genesis 7:2). But despite this last instruction only two pairs went into the ark (Genesis 7:8, 9). Errors: there are so many to name but it's hard to list all of them. Here are some 1. God is satisfied with his works Gen 1:31 God is dissatisfied with his works. Gen 6:6 2. God dwells in chosen temples 2 Chron 7:12,16 God dwells not in temples Acts 7:48 3. God dwells in light Tim 6:16 God dwells in darkness 1 Kings 8:12/ Ps 18:11/ Ps 97:2 4. God is tired and rests Ex 31:17 God is never tired and never rests Is 40:28 6. God is everywhere present, sees and knows all things Prov 15:3/ Ps 139:7-10/ Job 34:22,21 God is not everywhere present, neither sees nor knows all Gen 11:5/ Gen 18:20,21/ Gen 3:8 Unethical advice: Exodus 22:20 Those who sacrifice to other than the Lord, must be destroyed Numbers 31:17 Kill all and save for yourself virgins 1 Samuel 15:3 Kill all including animals Luke 19:27 Jesus says, bring them and slay them before me Matthew 10:34 Jesus says, I have not come to bring peace, but to bring a sword Anonymity: 18 out of the 66 books of the Bible are either fully or majorly anonymous. For example, the books of Moses are all written in third person, why would they be written in third person if Moses wrote them? Secondly the book of Deuteronomy says Deuteronomy 34:5-7: (5) And Moses the servant of the Lord died there in Moab, as the Lord had said. (6) He buried him in Moab, in the valley opposite Beth Peor, but to this day no one knows where his grave is. (7) Moses was a hundred and twenty years old when he died, yet his eyes were not weak nor his strength gone. (8) The Israelites grieved for Moses in the plains of Moab thirty days, until the time of weeping and mourning was over. Can Christians explain, How did Moses who is supposed to be the author of this book, write when he himself would die and where he would be buried and how the Israelites would react. And this can't be explained as an "obituary". This is all written in past tense. ✓ His last point was we can use eyewitness and earwitness documents to reconstruct the supposed texts of the Bible. 1. Ok, then why do the Protestants have 66 books in the bible whereas the Catholics have 73 and many orthodox Christians have 81? 2. Why do the newest versions of the bible keep having major revisions due to new discoveries in the manuscripts? Do the people who followed the old King James edition go to hell because adding to the scripture is prohibited? Revelation 22:18-19 "I warn everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this scroll: If anyone adds anything to them, God will add to that person the plagues described in this scroll. And if anyone takes words away from this scroll of prophecy, God will take away from that person any share in the tree of life and in the Holy City, which are described in this scroll." 3. And why do we believe in these specific books? Why do we have the Gospel of John in the Bible if it was written later than all the other synoptic Gospels. If it is reliable enough then why not add the gospel of Thomas? it was at maximum only 20-30 years after John's gospel. Why are their books of Moses but not books of Abraham? Why do Protestants leave out many of the books of the catholics and orthodox Christians? --- This is how we can tell the Bible isn't reliable, with rationale and research Invite to the way of your Lord with wisdom and good instruction, and argue with them in a way that is best. I have to believe any Scribe would dread having to painstakingly RECOPY what he had already spent a long time copying before. Not only that, (1) he would be looked down upon by his fellow Scribes for his error or (2) they were easy on each other because all of them, sooner or later, would make a copying error and knew exactly how that Scribe felt. I vote for the latter response.
