Jefferson described it in a letter to John Adams dated October 12, 1813: "In extracting the pure principles which he taught, we should have to strip off the artificial vestments in which they have been muffled by priests, who have travestied them into various forms, as instruments of riches and power to them. We must dismiss the Platonists & Plotinists, the Stagyrites & Gamalielites, the Eclectics the Gnostics & Scholastics, Logos & Demi-urgos, Aeons & Daemons male & female, with a long train of Etc. Etc. Etc. or, shall I say at once, of Nonsense. We must reduce our volume to the simple evangelists, select, even from them, the very words only of Jesus, paring off the Amphibologisms into which they have been led, by forgetting often, or not understanding, what had fallen from him, by giving their own misconceptions as his dicta, and expressing unintelligibly for others what they had not understood themselves."

"Wokism", or in fact any "sectoralist" ideology is the absolue opposite of Marxism. If you want to understand Marxism, it's about CLASS STRUGGLE. Forget "post modernists", etc. BTW - calling onself "Marxist" is not relevent. The NAZIS called themselves "Socialist" - 100% pro-Capitalist, "privitizers", bankrolled by the Capitalist Oligarchs in Germany and abroad, etc. So, as Lenin put it - "just as we don't judge a man by what he thinks of himself, we don't judge a political formation by what they call themselves". BTW - it's not ENVY that objects to the radical inequality of Capitalist "society" . in the US, 50% of the population has less than the one %. Not sustainable.

Probably no one is going to see this comment cuz it's 2 years since this was posted, however, I am wondering if the grand narrative of Marxism, which was the idea that we were working towards some sort of historically inevitable Utopia was like millennialism for Christians who believed that the second coming was just around the corner and kept believing that the world was about to end. Most of those Christian sects eventually set aside the immediate second coming of Christ as a core tenant, but held on to the rest of their Christian beliefs. I find this to be exactly analogous to the idea. Communism was always meant to usher in a Utopia but absolutely never did. So the Utopia has been pushed off to some unforeseeable future, while the basic core beliefs of communism are able to persist into postmodernism.

The Pharisee's fit well into the notion of a parasitic splinter. Perhaps this is why Christ interacted with them the way he did. Then there is the effect that the public - the comments section of you will - had on Pontius Pilate. The cult of the Pharisees and their comments section rabble corrupted Pilate by eclipsing his ability to exercise mercy.

Widely Accepted Facts, Objective Truth, Reality. When someone makes a claim to these things in an argument or polemic it is incumbent upon them to say what they mean by these things. No one has a universal understanding of these terms. When someone claims a whole group is rejecting reality but does not say what that reality is how do we know they are right? It is very different, for example, for someone to claim a group rejects reality then it is for them to say that group rejects Scientific Materialism … for example. Otherwise, your polemic sounds like a rant. Or, perhaps, it sounds like well crafted propaganda. You must be transparent regarding the sort of water the roots of your tree dip into. Otherwise … Gen 3:6 And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat. What we are faced with now, with atheistic ideology, is trans humanism or humans embedded with technology. They do not understand consciousness. It is fundamental.and beyond reach, or interference; thankfully. Mind is elemental emerging with quantum events. It has been said: we are coming for your minds and it is the case. Those without a religious perspective or grounding will be at risk. The definition of religion is that to which we are bound. We can be bound to a sane universal perspective or to some atheistic materialist perspective that does not understand or respect humanity and rather than contribute to human flourishing does the opposite.
