I finally saw it live. I'm about 100 miles from launch sight. I could clearly see stage separation & then the second stage zoom off to orbit. It was quiet enough to hear a low rumble.

You know airline pilots land manually all the time, instead of always using the auto landing technology. Mostly to keep their landing skills fresh. But astronauts will not once have the chance to even try to develop any landing skills for vertical rocket landings on earth. Airline pilots are considered worth a dime still, for landing. But astronauts will never be worth a single cent for vertical rocket landings on earth. Just remember that.
>>
<<@I_dont_want_an_at
says :
It's so emasculating for astronauts to never get to vertically land a rocket on earth. Their cool factor has taken a steep dive because they can't be entrusted with such a difficult task.
>>
<<@I_dont_want_an_at

what no one ever does is mourn the fact that humans will never be vertically landing rockets on Earth. We must mourn it. Everyone is just letting this pass without crying and saying how humiliating it is for human astronauts. Their heroic aura is tarnished by never being trusted to do this. These people who are supposed to be super human in their piloting. They'll never be given a shot at landing, and for good reason. And we should be sad and cry and make a big deal about it, but everyone just lets it slide without any crying
>>
<<@I_dont_want_an_at
says :
human astronauts aren't to be trusted with vertically landing a rocket on Earth. It's not for astronauts to ever do. Too hard for astronauts. Maybe they could do it, but we don't trust them with the job. They would never have the reliability and consistency. If it's possible, they'll never, ever get the chance to try. Keep your grubby fingers off the controls you astronauts. We don't trust you with vertically landing a rocket. Too hard for you!!!!!
>>
<<@I_dont_want_an_at
says :
It's so sad that no human will ever pilot a rocket to land vertically on earth. It's so sad that no human astronaut will ever be trusted with the job. So sad that we have decided astronauts can never do it- that it's beyond their abilities.

From now on i will turn the sound off when watching further launches, the drivel is a total put off. I wonder why they feel they need to repeat every comment from launch control even worse he proceeds to tell the almost 7K viewers just what Star Link is. I give up

I never get tired of a booster landing. with (just about) every flight. Watching the flydown, through the clouds and then onto the drone ship, and in the middle of the bullseye. It's such amazingly realistic CGI. (kidding). Asesome actual tech. It's the future I enjoy witnessing now, firsthand.

while i appreciate the vastly increased launch cadence it will only really be impressive when, in hind sight, we look back on these increasingly routine but not 'air travel routine' flights and think 'how quaint it is they bothered airing all these early flights ... with Full Commentary! you couldnt even think of doing that now ... three thousand flights an hour globally? yeah good luck giving _THOSE_ the full commentary treatment. itd be like recording the chaos of a Very Busy ATC where most vehicles are coming in close to straight down and you wont really see them until theyre Right THERE and its time to work'
