It's been a very interesting phone. For reference in the past 2 years I've been using a iPhone 15PM and Samsung Galaxy 24. I really like Samsung OneUI and that's just a personal preference. But i have to say, im pleasantly surprised at how funky this 1st gen Pixel fold is. The quality of the physical hardware is A+ top shelf premium. I was never a buyer at 1800 or even $1k. Unless there is a rebate or some mark down i don't see the need to spend more than $900 on a phone. But at $300 i was tempted to see what it would be like to have my first foldable and a Pixel. Complaints: 3-1/2 hours of screen on time puts me at 30% remaining. The camera / picture quality has more noise than I'm used to. The bottom speaker does all the work and the volume rocker gets bumped a lot. Third party appts still doesn't really take advantage of the main display. Some apps on the front display don't always respond appropriately to user inputs. Worry in the back of mind of dropping it or the inside screen stops working. Positives: The Tensor G2 actually has held up very well. The UI is very snappy and responsive. The finger print sensor is very reliable and well placed. The bezel on the inside screen is really helpful for allowing you to hold the phone or pass it to someone to share content. The build quality is outstanding. It really feels like a halo product. If anything a slightly thicker rear panel for a larger battery and flatter buttons would have been nice. Its a heavy phone, but because the quality is so good and the folding panels sit flush, the grip is solid. In the end i think there is still a lot i need to explore with the device. At under $500USD i think its great value for something truly different and interesting. But.... and it a big BUT, its hard to say if there truly is any more advantage to a foldable than having a large phone like a Samsung Ultra. I'm leaning so far to saying a Ultra would be a better allrounder but it does take up a lot of pocket space.>> <<@philforde5871 says : IMO, it had the best aspect ratio for most potential users, especially for watching videos.>> <<@Darwin-ii1jf says : It's so sad that they didn't continue this design...>> <<@HELLOHOGO says : i always forget why i unsubscribed, then i remember>> <<@edm_enthusiast says : Lol just bought one for $200 to play around with it. Apple does not even make a foldable. Crazy>> <<@timg2727 says : This is a great phone to buy for like $400-$500 in 2025. I can't imagine paying almost 2 grand for it, even when it came out.>> <<@bigdogboos1 says : can't believe they F'd it up with the fold 2, and up coming shortly their fold 3. Why get rid of that form factor ?!!!!!>> <<@hussamezzat says : Google pixel9 fold internal screen bazel 🤮🤮>> <<@RC-ex9tp says : Maybe if you use an app like Nova might give you the capability of diversifying your home screens. 😮>> <<@rodNantz says : what I have been excited about is this small form factor while closed... small phones are rare, and being able to have an inner big screen as well is great.
