There are a lot of statements that we look at in English to be one way but means something different or deeper when you see it from a Jewish perspective. Study to show thy self approved. That the Holy Spirit can speak to us, through our thoughts and intellect, through direct revelation ( when you think a thought and you realize that it didn't come from you, and it doesn't contradict God's Word) and when He speaks to us from the pulpit, or a pastor, or a brother/sister in Christ.
