I dont agree with the fact that noone should be compatitive. Its not only about ego or satisfaction. Its also a trait about being human. If competition wasnt a thing life wouldnt be fun, kings wouldnt exist, schools would be useless. Competition with negetivity is terrible but games are meant to be competitive. I know he doeent mean this kind of competition but some people do. I know most people will not make it till here cause of our attention span. Being competitive doesn't mean you want to see your opponent lose, or that you wish them to be "less" than you; It just means that you're willing to push yourself to be better than your competition, no matter how good they are. And when you see someone who's better at something than you, that inspires you to work harder on yourself. Competition can and should be healthy.
