I believe there is overwhelming biblical evidence that Jesus was crucified on a Wednesday and the reason people like in this video do not want to come to that conclusion is because, either they’ve never actually looked into it in detail and are just parroting what others have said or they want to stick with tradition over the scriptures.>> <<@Rambo777 says : It is my understanding that in Jewish/Israeli, both ancient and modern, if something occurred in any part of a day that day was included or counted as part of the time the occurrence took place. Therefore, JESUS was crucified, died and buried on what we call Friday, that's day one He was dead and buried, still dead and buried on Friday night, that's night one. Saturday day, dead and buried, day two. Still dead and buried at night, that is night two. Sunday day, still dead and buried, day 3. Sunday night, dead and buried that's night 3, until "...the first of the week..." at or before dawn the sealed stone "door" was rolled away and JESUS was resurrected, arose and walked out of the tomb.>> <<@jpd4676 says : If Jonah was in the belly of the fish for three literal days then Jesus was dead for three literal days. Jesus Christ is the new passover Lamb and the passover is not complete until the passover Lamb is consumed. Thar is why at every Catholic Mass, the Once and Perfect Sacrifice of Jesus Christ, is continually offered up to the Father, as we are continually sinning, and Jesus Christ is ALWAYS making intercession for us! This sabbath was a high and holy Sabbath because it was a feast day Sabbath. It's really that simple. This was not a Passover meal that Jesus had with his disciples. This was something special. This was something that he done to explain to his disciples what was taking place and that they were about to enter a new covenant. Eek! I know, I know, friends. And, I'm aware of Gen. 1:5 and Lev. 23:32. Both of those verses disprove the sunset theory once you study them closely and let go of Jewish tradition. 2) Resurrection is different from ascension. Jesus was resurrected at the end of the Sabbath, but ascended to the right hand of the Father on the first day of the week. This is definitely a difficult topic to study through, and I don't have all the answers. Probably never will, but we can keep bouncing ideas off of each other and maybe figure most of it out.>> <<@kylepaustian943 says : Jesus would have had the Passover meal Thursday night(our Wednesday night)then be handed to Jewish leadership later that night (after midnight so our Thursday early morning)then suffered through the trials all Thursday, then Friday night (our Thursday night) the bible is silent then Friday he is crucified and died. He was handed over night 1 suffered day 1 and night 2 then was killed day 2 buried and rested night 3 and day 3. Then women found empty tomb. Jesus had already risen. No contradiction or.problem. After exile many Jews celebrated Passover and the first day of unleavened bread at same time. In exodus they were two separate feasts. He celebrated the proper way while the Jewish leaders were using a different tradition.>> <<@moniyahshakhor6509 says : It happened on a Thursday! Was it the passover meal? YES IT WAS! So, Thursday night Yahusha had passover meal which we call The Lord's Supper. That Thursday day He was tried and crucified by night fall. The 15th is the start of Unleavened Bread. It's a high sabbath. He was buried/tombed up Friday night, between nightfall and the 3rd hour of night. 16th was a sabbath; Saturday. 17th was First Fruits in which He rose, Sunday. He was up and out by Miriams' arrival. Each Holy day is kept a certain way and represents Yah's fullness. Only way for Him to rise on First Fruits is it had to be on a Thursday. It did came from Jesus that the Son of Man will be in the heart of the earth for three days and three nights. Matthew 12:39-40 💕But he replied to them, “An evil and adulterous generation craves a sign. Yet no sign will be given to it except the sign of the prophet Jonah, because just as Jonah was in the stomach of the sea creature for three days and three nights, so the Son of Man will be in the heart of the earth for three days and three nights. In order for us not to be swayed by our own intension, by our favor to religion or traditions or doctrines of man, we Christians must First directly answer the questions. 🍃"Who is the Son of Man referring to by Jesus ?" It is Jesus Christ himself who died and is risen, the Son of God. 🍃"What did Jesus said about the Son of Man?" The Son of Man will be in the heart of the earth for three days and three nights. 🍃"What does it means?" It means that Jesus Christ who is the Son of Man will be buried for 3 days and 3 nights. 🍃"What did Jesus said about a whole day?" Jesus said that there is 12 hours of daylight. It means that there is also 12 hours of night. John 11:9-10 💕Jesus answered, “Are there not twelve hours of daylight? Anyone who walks in the daytime will not stumble, for they see by this world’s light. It is when a person walks at night that they stumble, for they have no light.” As Jesus clearly and definely said about 12 hours of daylight, as Jesus also had mentioned about night, it is also clear that there is 12 hours of nighttime. This is not a figure of speech but instead Jesus is very specific about himself as the Son of Man who died and is alive and seated at the right hand of God. 🍃"Can Jesus Christ lie?" NO, Jesus had never lied and will always direct us to the Word of God, who is himself. Jesus is always true to his words. Hebrew 6: 16-18 💕Men swear by someone greater than themselves, and their oath serves as a confirmation to end all argument. So when God wanted to make the unchanging nature of His purpose very clear to the heirs of the promise, He guaranteed it with an oath. Thus by two unchangeable things in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled to take hold of the hope set before us may be strongly encouraged. We must focus on what was given and had been described clearly so we might not able to make it blurred to detect a one day. We cannot find in the Bible that explain a part of a day is equal to 1 whole day or a part of a night is equal to a whole day. Christians must be able to test the spirit that tells the understanding. It is okay for the body to reason out together for God knows each one of us, he knows the honesty of our heart and the purity of our mind. It is Father who gave us the desire to search him more. In searching and knowing, we must be able to bravely accept the truth provided by the Word of God for the Kingdom of God is not ruled by traditions nor doctrines of men, but is ruled and governed by the Word of God, our Yeshua, our Saviour and our King, the Lord of lords. The Bible had said that there will be a unity by the Spirit of God in the end among the children of God. This unity of the Holy Spirit does not come from the One World Religion and will never emerge from them where their unity is brotherhood and deception. For there is no one God and one Lord in them. For different scriptures produces different gods. 1 Corinthians 12: 12-13 💕For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body—whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free—and have all been made to drink into one Spirit. The unity by the Spirit of God is through the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through him. And his name is Jesus Christ, our Yeshua, the Son of God. Ephesian 4:4-6 💕There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called in one hope of your calling; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all. Ephesians 4:11-13 💕So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ. As this is written, it will happen. Test the spirit.>> <<@admdave says : What I've learned from listening to Frank and his long and distinguished list of guests, is that 1) I don't know everything; ergo: 2) when Frank or a guest asserts something that is contrary to what I have been brought up to believe, I don't immediately attack. The Question: "Was Jesus crucified the day before or the day after the Passover meal?" 1: All four Gospels state and agree that Jesus was crucified (and died) on the "Preparation Day" (the day before the Sabbath). Matthew 27:57 (NIV): As evening approached, there came a rich man from Arimathea, named Joseph, who had himself become a disciple of Jesus. (Although Matthew doesn't say the word "Sabbath" or "the day before the Sabbath," we can align it with Mark 15:42). Mark 15:42-43 (NIV): 42 It was Preparation Day (that is, the day before the Sabbath). So as evening approached, 43 Joseph of Arimathea, a prominent member of the Council, who was himself waiting for the kingdom of God, went boldly to Pilate and asked for Jesus' body. (Both Matthew and Mark say the following: "As evening approached," and spoke of Joseph of Arimathea). Luke 23:54 (NIV): 54 It was Preparation Day, and the Sabbath was about to begin. John 19:31 (NIV): 31 Now it was the day of Preparation, and the next day was to be a special Sabbath. Because the Jewish leaders did not want the bodies left on the crosses during the Sabbath, they asked Pilate to have the legs broken and the bodies taken down. 2: John 19:14- John 19:14 (NIV): 14 It was the day of Preparation of the Passover; it was about noon. "Here is your king," Pilate said to the Jews. (Or" "The sixth hour.") John based his calculations on Roman time, while Matthew, Mark, and Luke based theirs on Jewish time. 3: The Passover always occurred on the "14th Day of Nisan." 4: Nisan is the first month of the Jewish year/calendar. (Leviticus 23:5 confirms this). Lev. 23:5 NIV: 5 The Lord’s Passover begins at twilight on the fourteenth day of the first month. 5: At sundown: when a new Jewish day began. Not like ours. 6: So, once the Sun went down- "the 13th day" became the "14th day." 7: For the Passover: On the day after the Passover (the 15th day), the "Seven Day Feast of the Unleavened Bread" began. 8: On the first day of the "Seven Day Feast of the Unleavened Bread," was a "special Sabbath day." (Leviticus 23:6 confirms this). Lev. 23:6 NIV: 6 On the fifteenth day of that month the Lord’s Festival of Unleavened Bread begins; for seven days you must eat bread made without yeast. 9: As the 4 Gospels tell us, Jesus was crucified on the Passover Day. (The 14th day of Nisan). 10: Whenever "The Passover" and "The Feast of the Unleavened Bread" fell close together to one another, they were considered one feast. 11: So: this would make it- "A 1-day Passover," followed by: "A 7-day Unleavened Bread feast." This 8 day festival was also referred to as the Passover. See: Luke 22:1, John 19:14, and Acts 12:3-4. Luke 22:1 NIV: 22 Now the Festival of Unleavened Bread, called the Passover, was approaching, John 19:14 NIV: 14 It was the day of Preparation of the Passover; it was about noon. “Here is your king,” Pilate said to the Jews. Acts 12:3-4 NIV: 3 When he saw that this met with approval among the Jews, he proceeded to seize Peter also. This happened during the Festival of Unleavened Bread.4 After arresting him, he put him in prison, handing him over to be guarded by four squads of four soldiers each. Herod intended to bring him out for public trial after the Passover. 12: So: in John 19:14, when he says "it was the day of preparation for the Passover," he wasn't talking about the normal, day 14 Passover (and the day that Jesus was crucified), but the "Seven Day Feast of the Unleavened Bread" (which began on day 15)- since it was called "The Passover" (all-together). 13: Read Ezekiel 45:21. 21 “‘In the first month on the fourteenth day you are to observe the Passover, a festival lasting seven days, during which you shall eat bread made without yeast. 14: Verses that show "The Unleavened Bread" can reference an entire Passover season: Matthew 26:17 Mark 14:1 Mark 14:12 and Luke 22:1-7. 15: Since Jesus knew what was about to happen, He ate his Passover meal early on the 14th day. (And since a new day in Jewish terms began at sunset, once the sun went down on the 13th day, it became the 14th day). 16: So, after the sunset on the 13th day (and it became the 14th day), Jesus and his followers ate their (Passover) meal. 17: The following morning after their Passover meal, is when all of the events transpired. 18: John 18:28- this was not the Passover Lab, but a separate meal. (The Passover lamb meal takes place in John 13- especially take a look at John 13:2). John 18:28 NIV: 28 Then the Jewish leaders took Jesus from Caiaphas to the palace of the Roman governor. By now it was early morning, and to avoid ceremonial uncleanness they did not enter the palace, because they wanted to be able to eat the Passover. John 13:2 NIV: 2 The evening meal was in progress, and the devil had already prompted Judas, the son of Simon Iscariot, to betray Jesus. This meal: The verse: John 18:28 NIV: Jesus Before Pilate 28 Then the Jewish leaders took Jesus from Caiaphas to the palace of the Roman governor. By now it was early morning, and to avoid ceremonial uncleanness they did not enter the palace, because they wanted to be able to eat the Passover. "πασχα" can also mean other sacrifices, which were offered (during the paschal solemnity). It refers to the "Feast" that follows the sacrifice of the lamb. Passover is more than just 1 thing. This was a reference to the "Chagigah" (the feast on the 15th day) (see Deut. 16:2). Read 2 Chronicles 30:22. 2 Chronicles 30:22 NIV: 22 Hezekiah spoke encouragingly to all the Levites, who showed good understanding of the service of the Lord. For the seven days they ate their assigned portion and offered fellowship offerings and praised the Lord, the God of their ancestors. There are eight other examples in John, where "πασχα" ("pascha") means "feast" (and not supper). John 13:2 was the "lamb" (regular Passover Meal). Also: Remember, unlike Matthew, John wrote to a Roman/Gentile audience, and was different than the Synoptic Gospels in almost every way. Of course Christ died at passover, because the passover symbolised his blood being shed for us. The three days/nights is Hebrew reckoning, where day is counted even if it is part of a day, and it starts on day 1, not day 0. Thus Friday, Sabbath, Sunday is your 3 days and Sunday morning is the on the third day. Plus, the day begins in the evening, not in the morning, so any time after sunset Saturday the the resurrection could have occurred. If we say it was Saturday to make the Friday crucifixion work, we're presupposing Yeshua traveled on Saturday or a Sabbath Day. He would NOT have done this! He would NOT have traveled from one place on a Sabbath Day to another place. That would have violated Leviticus 23:3 "Six days shall work be done, but on the 7th day is a Sabbath of solemn rest, a holy convocation. You shall do no work. It is easy to show there were 2 Sabbaths on crucifixion week without muddling up Christ's words to cram 3 days into 1.5 days. Why make a stand on crucifixion Friday when it puts into question Yashua's words and you have to do some fancy foot work to cover it over. The Good Friday idea came from people who had no understanding of the Hebrew Passover calendar.>> <<@Yidd-E-ack says : Rose again on the third day. What part of that makes it a figure of speech?>> <<@simplyseculardave says : It hardly matters what day it was on. The celebration of the birth of Christ was moved by around 3 months and no one seems to care. Would the bible have been more believable if the Last Supper happened AFTER Jesus rose from the Crucifixion? If there were Believers and Non-Believers in the room who saw him transform into a spirit and rise through the roof of the building to Ascend? Or is it still just a poorly written fable, in an old book?>>
