You should NEVER mess with the wild ones. They can be dangerous and carry diseases. They are also hard to get rid of between being able to adapt in most environments and because they are so intelligent. Even for me, it was uncomfortable seeing the wild rats running around the house. There are hoarders in my own family but I don't think things got this bad, at least from what I know of. I have hoarding tendencies as it runs in the family and have to work on it to make sure things don't get really bad. My house isn't good right now because I can barely walk due to my disabilities as I'm having a really bad week, but I'll have to tackle things eventually. Fortunately I have family and friends that do help when needed.
