That is a lot less than a custom fillet knife cost me 50 years ago. The $100 USD I paid for a knife in 1972 would cost 898 Euros today when inflation and exchange rates are taken into account. I spent $20 USD on a stainless steel knife in High School, which is $207.40 in today's worthless dollar. Sixty-two years ago, twenty bucks didn't buy a very good Stainless steel knife. They weren't a lot better ten years later. I still have that in the kitchen. Diamond stones make it easier to sharpen. A Rockwell C of 55, a Carburumdem, and an Arkansas stone are all I want to keep knives sharp, unfortunately I think some are harder than a carborundum stone.,

Impressive, very nice. But show us now the pocket sword. Now for real, I bought your pocketchete and really love it. But the problem is nowadays that it is leagl to carry, but as a train driver, that needs to cut down vegetation to inspect his locomotives before driving them. I really have problems because almost every important trainstation became a dangerous item free zone... This is ridiculous. Also self defence is important. We park our locomotives sometimes in poor areas with high drug consuption rates. Many of my collegues ended in hospitals because of muggings in those areas. Also the sheath of the pocechete is not that durable. After some month of carrying the two straps became sort of loose. :( Bes would be a sturdyer sheath with a fingerprint lok. Bought myself a cheap lock for a diy sheath. So I can say I just transport it locked.

Joerg, you could do this with another scale material and another alloy that meets the specifications. I think your manufacturing partner might have, as us Americans say, shoehorned you into certain choices, especially on the steel alloy selection. I know you wanted the carbon fiber scales, but did it really need that strength or weight savings? G10 would have probably been fine. You are only looking at a blade guard and a frame. Would it look as cool? No. You did pick the coolest look, but you could probably get a similar look with cheaper materials. Carbon fiber, as great as it is, isn't needed for everything.
