I've also tried the 7.5in bolts and a variety of different weight bolt tips. I only ever range between 60-64 joules. String and rail are well waxed and I've only had it about 2 weeks, so no wear issues. The string does seem quite heavily pressed down against the rail, more than I would have expected. Is this normal, or potentially the added friction causing the power loss I wonder. Unfortunately, I was not aware this platform is limited to using only micro diameter shafts. The rail is designed to only accept this difficult to acquire and more expensive type of bolt... Despite all my research before purchasing, this vital bit of info was kept hidden. Having said that, Im still pretty happy with it. I paid about $279 for a 120lb mini crossbow, so not bad considering, also it's upgradable to 150lb which puts it on par with the siege in a far smaller footprint and repeatable (magazine) capability.
