Cooperate in the first round. 2. Do unto him whatever he did to you in the previous round.>> <<@GaetanLemire-u3z says : From Nepean, Canada, at 67. 🍁🇨🇦🫡 I have the greatest respect for Dr. Robert Sapolsky; his explanation of biology, evolution, and behavior is flawless. I follow many of his course that I really enjoy. I'd like to offer a different perspective on free will. Free will is the decision we make when all interactions with the universe around us are analyzed and considered as a living creature. I call it "Qi" in respect to Chinese philosophy, which describes something quite similar, though their version of Qi can in some cases become esoteric. We are not individual creatures; we are living in a collective that constantly evolves and forces each of us to make decisions. People often bind to the will of the collective, like religion or belief but we don't have to. This become important as we are moving in a future with Digital Intelligence and redefining what it means to be alive.>> <<@N0Xa880iUL says : Fantastic! If he does cooperate you keep cooperating until he doesn't. In other words: 1) make every contact in good faith 2) but don't waste your time on them 3) but be open to change and 4) acknowledge that everything can become better or worse Wouldn't it be great if more people had this attitude?>> <<@NoahRobbins-l6o says : Or you know, if you already stabbed the person in the back and now you're trying to come up with some logic as to why they weren't cooperating with you after you already stabbed them in the back 15 times. But hey. We deleted that right>> <<@unchosen_ne says : I think this guy spent too much time with those baboons, why should any normal person assume any interaction equals a round? Wtf? The Smartest way to interact for All is genuine cooperation, its what makes humans different in terms of having that choice, its because of Some groups that push a fight ot flight narrative, but its Not te natural wsy to behave for smart and developed hunan beings.>> <<@jeffreydaigle8963 says : Certainly, hopefully, there is a substantive dialogue preceding this synopsis,as this rationale when contrasted for some specific intention, is indistinct or ambiguous at best. I'm just learning by myself and just reading some not like do study spesific as bachelor degree to be profesor etc. And many because I am observing and think about it and reflect on myself>> <<@GregFirehawk says : I don't agree with this logic at all. Especially as he continues to expand the premise. If you're interacting with someone for any number of finite rounds, the obvious choice is always to cooperate until the final round. It's just obvious that if you screw them on the first round, yeah you made more on that first round but you significantly reduced all your gains for all the following rounds, and your total return is much worse than if you had cooperated till the end when you can betray for maximum benefit.>> <<@paddyslawnandleaf2631 says : It’s like buying a used car.. or new car even.>> <<@Abebarthol says : This is sociopathic talk. If the only logical thing to do is stab people in the back from the beginning with a known number of interactions, then how is it any different with an unknown number of interactions. Wouldn't that mean that there is a point with a known number of interactions where the only logical thing to do is cooperate? Like, at 49 interactions it's logical to stab in the back, but at 50 we cooperate? And if it's logical to not cooperate even once, why is cooperation ever considered? I can understand if cooperation is the default, there might be times to not cooperate, but if stabbing in the back is the logical default, how could anybody ever cooperate? I feel like I'm missing something in what's he's conveying.>> <<@GeorgiaMostly says : This logic is flawed, as even if every person you betray is black-holed, YOU are left having to live with YOU. That’s quite the threat.>> <<@crimsonpotemkin says : That's why we need faith in God.
