You see here that the only good division is one that comes in accordance with the bible and against heresy. If you then have a division that is according to mere carnality, that is not good for either and is not the sort of division God wants. If the division is to protect the purity of the church, that is good for those who are not going astray, but bad for those they are being forced to separate from. You don't get a good division that is an improvement on that unity for both groups. God wishes for unity in His people, but not at the expense of right doctrine or failing to purge the church of evil men who refuse to repent. Also the word day that was used in Hebrew was Yom, which represented a 24 hour day. Lastly, we only know the round trip speed of light, not the direct speed.
