Fear God, the Lord of the Worlds. I fear for you more than my own life. I seek forgiveness from God, the Almighty, and I repent to Him. I confess my sin. I punished myself at your feet. I imagined a naked image of you. You would kiss me now, spit on me. I am entirely yours. Glory be to God, the Almighty, who created you. Forgive me. I confess my sin. You are like Joseph, peace be upon him. God forbid! I am Zuleikha. I am telling you, "God willing." May God protect you wherever you are. Your servant.

"punishment for being generous" ... .I picked up a fellow work mate one day as he was hitch-hiking home after work. It was a very hot day and I though a ride would be a lot better .. When he got in the car the first thing he said to me was, "where I come from being nice is a sign of weakness". And i answered "well you can get out and continue hitch-hiking if you like'...

This conversation between Peterson and Sapolsky is one of the best I’ve ever heard—a perfect 'Yin and Yang.' It’s a powerful example of how the pursuit of science isn't about being right-leaning or left-leaning. This is what scientific discourse should be the norm. It's a stark contrast to the discussion with Dawkins, which didn't look good for anyone. Even as someone who leans left (and respects Dawkins's scientific arguments), I thought it looked particularly bad for Dawkins and the lefties. Kudos to Jordan Peterson for being the one extending the hand and fostering this kind of essential dialogue.

And does this mean dopamine has its roots in biological evolution? As in, is it essential for the survival of our species? That makes sense in my head, even obvious?
>>
<<@harry.l.morley
says :
When you're about to get something and then the possibility of getting more of that something suddenly arises, in the moment (in anticipation of a BETTER future reward than the current one) . . . That feeling, that's the double dopamine spike they speak of. (Think food, shopping, clothes, money, drugs, sex etc.) It indicates the motivational nature of dopamine as much as its reward seeking fiction. As I see it, they work in concert to produce a driving/motor like/pleasureful/exciting/kicking sort of experience to get you do that something that will release more the sweet, sweet dopamine. . .
>>
<<@garyluciani1082
says :
When they were talking about reward and dopamine and the hero, jordan said if there's no future of more fruit yet discovered, it becomes dull, boring. The thought popped into my head. This might explain why Adam and Eve gave in to the temptation of eating the forbidden fruit. As humans they were compelled by their being human to eat that fruit. God created them to be that way. Shame on you God. You set them up.

Listening to the subtleties of fluctuation in frequency of sounds or tones in a favorite song. Having or listening to an intellectually stimulating conversation with depth and meaning from predecessors, persons of interests or loved ones you care about or to which whom truly care about you. Thank you so much for this intellectually stimulating conversation! I needed to hear it, it wasn't the algorithm the lord sent it to me.
