And everyone knows it. It is true that the cultural left, center and even much of religious culture is "done" with traditional conservative Christianity's anti-gay stance. You've very nearly entirely lost the culture war and people are about ready to treat you like the KKK and Nazis. No one really cares about your case against gay marriage anymore than we care about the Klan's case against "mixed" marriages. You're in the process of being culturally displaced and you don't like the stigma of a label. Sorry, not sorry? But yeah, you're right. Some of the left is overly intolerant, too. So if I express an opinion opposite of yours then you’ll tolerate it then, right? Because that’s what tolerance is. We may not agree but we’ll tolerate one another and respect one another. Because why is it that I have to agree with them, but they don’t have to agree with me? As a Christian, I love people regardless of their opinions and whether they agree with me or not. Christians hate the sin, not the sinner. BUT if a non Christian doesn’t agree with a Christian, they call Christians hateful and homophobic. Doesn’t seem fair does it? The question I would ask the non-Christian is, “By what standard are you saying that what you are doing is good? Where is the non-Christian getting this standard from? Because if you are an atheist, then there is no standard. It’s just an non-Christians WILL they want to impose on a Christian. If the non-Christian says, “well it’s Love!” Then my question would be, “Who is the standard of love?” And what is the definition of love? Because love is not approving everything somebody wants to do. Everyone who is a parent should know this. Anyone who is a former child should know this too. If your parent approves of everything you WANT to do, then that parent is not a loving parent. If you don’t stand in the way of evil, then you’re not loving. In fact Paul says, “Love always protects.” (1 COR 13:7) How do you protect people? You tell them what they are doing is going to hurt themselves and others and it’s against God’s will. This can also cause you a lot of consternation from the people who say they are fighting for tolerance, inclusion and diversity. I am going to be excluded by those people. But Jesus said this is what’s going to happen. They persecuted me and they’ll persecute you too. So if you truly want to love them, tell them the truth, but also tell them there’s nothing they can do that will make you stop loving them. But love doesn’t mean I approve of everything they do. “Does love require approval?” If I ask someone who is a LGBTQ member if they love me? They would say yes, right? If I ask that same person if they approve of me and my position? They would say no, right? Then they just answered that question and lost the debate “Does love require approval?” Because if someone tries to say love requires approval, and you don’t approve of my position, then if you truly loved me you would have to agree with my position, according to a LGBTQ’s position. But you don’t agree with me. Love DOESN’T mean you APPROVE of everything. Love means that you PROTECT the loved one. That requires standing in the way of things that are going to hurt themselves and others. Particularly when God says the human body is designed a certain way for a reason. If you claim to be tolerant, then be tolerant toward anyone who disagrees with you to back that claim up.
