Weah was one of my favourite fooballers of all times, but the 49% and 50% don't make no sense, who got the other 1% then? Maybe 51% and 49%. Or if there is a marginal 3rd runner, maybe 11% 44% 45%? Weah knew there was a stitch up and made sure his country didn't end up fighting.

Hi Zack. I don't really agree with this. Tinubu in Nigeria is not a poor person but he is wasteful, exploitative and fraudulent. I agree with you if you mean, an already financially independent morally upstanding president who lives by strict adherence to high moral code, full of integrity, not a criminal at heart... George Weah sounds like he worked hard for his money. Most Nigerian president have money before taking up office. How they got it is another question. But it makes them more greedy!!!!

This is not an African thing Zack. "Power is about riches, its about wealth, its about opportunities" for all leaders, their families & friends everywhere in the world my brother. There's only one leader who left office in the same economic position he was before he ascended to the Presidency of his country, that's Jose Mujica, former President of Uruguay 2010-2015. He refused to move to the Presidential Palace & stayed in his humble small farm holding house. Refused, declined the Presidential motorcade & Protection & drove himself around in his 1987 VW Beetle. He donated 90% of his $12,000 monthly salary to charities that benefit poor people and small entrepreneurs. Take the last 4 US Presidents, Bush, Obama, Trump & Biden, its about PRWO!

I must disagree with you. This man had lost all his millions before becoming president. Within six months of taking office, he and his cronies in the government started building mansions all over the country. No development except building sport parks for his jobless, hungry people to play in. He and his boys have the country indebted to all the major lending institutions in this world. The best thing he has done in these six years, is to concede. All his football days, he was never captain of a team, that should have told Liberians something....NO LEADERSHIP QUALITY!!!

Africa needs leaders that believe in Socialism. Liberians fought war for twenty years, so George Weah knows he doesn't want chaos again Liberia because Liberians warned him that there will be grave problems with him and his party. The Liberians were not joking with me threads. If George Weah didn't leave in peace, he would have left dead..

I truly agree you. If only people that have been entrusted the leadership, every one of them, understand that it is proportionally very important to enrich the people under them first for the entire country to be prosperous and rich, the world would be much safer and peaceful. What we are seeing now are they leading the nations are fighting like childrens to pull each other down in dirty politics in order to deceive the people to get them into power. When they're there in the spot, they keep busy politicking to remain in power as well as sucking out every opportunity to gain as much wealth as possible before their time is up. They have ignored the responsibilities that comes with the power given by the people. They people remaining poor and suppressed with poverty as they and their cronies only gain wealth. How can a country finance their development when its people are poor. It's the same everywhere, not just in Africa.

I would disagree with Zack on not allowing a poor person to be president because it doesn't matter them being rich or poor once they are going into politics. A greedy person can never be content with what they have because they will always want more and often it will be on other people's expense

Blessings, strength, peace, unity and prosperity to you Zack. And the same blessings to all my melanated African family 💯👊🏾✊🏾🙏🏾. Politicians given the opportunity will rob money if they know they can get away with it. Africa needs a new breed of politicians who actually treat the whole country they serve like their own house or villa. Good parents look after their children and any president who represents any African country should have that mindset.

In the southern part of Africa, they do transfer power peacefully after elections. Namibia and Zambia are two examples. In West Africa (where Liberia is located) admittedly it is rare, and therefore the outgoing president deserves praise. 🇱🇷👏
