Even the Canaanite children? Supposing I accept that every single Canaanite adult was irredeemably wicked - which to me is a stretch -what about the kids? (NOTE: Honest searcher here. Not trying to be snarky. There's many things about my own faith I do not understand - especially in the OT.)

Thanks for your knowledge and wisdom on this matter! How about this, Yeshua is the Lamb of God. To qualify as the sacrifice He had to be 2 unique things. Truly God, Truly Man. (think 2 parallel lines becoming the Cross) Yet Yeshua is both! Something only the Good Lord and our Savior is! Period. In other words Truly the mystery of all mysteries.

Why is it significant that Jesus claimed to be a messiah or god? Anyone is free to claim whatever they care to.......it does not make it true. Why does it matter what the slaying of the Canaanites is called? The slaughter of a group of people is still a slaughter regardless of any other name you might give it or whatever motivation is assigned it, including "righteous judgement". I seem to recall something like "thou shalt not kill" in the book christians hold so dear. You are correct: christianity and islam are in conflict. Three options: christianity is true and islam false; islam is true and christianity is false; or both are false. It is faith alone that supports either of the first two options therefore the correct answer is the third, since it is readily apparent that faith is not a reliable tool to discover truth. One could accept anything at all as truth on faith alone. Such as your claim that your god is timeless, spaceless, etc etc. and is the creator of the universe. There is zero evidence for this yet it is accepted as true by believers on faith alone. Science does not claim the universe sprang from nothing without a cause..........science says "we do not know" since there is insufficient evidence and data to reach an honest, truthful conclusion. We may never know, but as Feynman said, it is better to have an unanswered question than an answer that cannot be questioned.

God is a mystery. If exist, God's ways are more mysterious. But everything about God is implanted in the core of humans hearts and minds and tough to resist. Heaven and Hell and the Almighty who no one had ever seen. Only pictures, drawings and statues. Gods seems like the stories of popular leaders or great kings of the past. God however is a comfort in times of difficulties for we have no one to rely on when the need for magics and miracles are needed. God is also the reason for all wars and killings. Humans unnecessarily used most of their energies on God's. Instead of fighting for the right God and religion , I think it's better to live in this world peacefully and happily for some time without killing and fighting. God and religion were meant for a better mankind and a better world but it is becoming more worst day by day.

Hi! Quick question on something that has confused me a couple of times. At times the Pharisees seem to act as if they don’t have the authority to kill someone that is a threat to them or has violated their Law. On at least one occasion it appears that they tried to kill Jesus before the cross but eventually settled on a different course of action by having the Roman government kill Him for them. I’m not sure if this was because of Jesus’ large following and the feared response by His followers. But then in the epistles it seems like they suddenly don’t have a problem killing people. Starting with the killing of Stephen, who was killed in public, the Pharisees do not seemed worried about killing people they deem to be a threat. By some accounts Paul killed some Christians and later they even attempted to kill Paul. So what changed or how do we understand how much authority the Pharisees had when it came to their form of capital punishment?

Concerning your fifth and last question, I believe in GOD. But as a deist, I don't believe those horseshit that the religions teach. So, I don't want to say any further. But keep in my that I will not believe in your dude who died on a cross as GOD. That makes 100% insane logic.
>>
<<@deisttriangle7440
says :
Fourth question is a funny question. Christianity is a self-inflicted wound. Muslims and Jews all agree upon there is only one GOD and no more. If one questions it or edit this concept he or she will be declared as a heretic. You Christians are not even agreeing on the central and core concepts of Trinity. So, my best advice is again, as I said, repair your self inflicted wound before looking through the other religions.

To the third point: Deuteronomy 6:4 in Hebrew says, "YHWH Elohim YHWH échád." "Échád" in this context means "composite unity". The "im" in Elohim implies plurality, such as Christ's eternal spiritual nature and His added physical nature. YHWH (Father) Elohim (Christ with two natures) YHWH (Holy Spirit) Échád (composite unity-- Three in One).
>>
<<@raspberry3911
says :
To the first point: Jesus often said and did things which only God can do, even calm storms with a word, cast out demons, and forgive sins. He even prayed to His Father that He be glorified in the same way the Father is glorified. Jesus is no mere man or mere prophet of God. He is God!

We can add the following scripture to affirm the Deity of Jesus: Malachi 3:1 [1]Behold, I will send my messenger, and he shall prepare the way before me: (...), saith the LORD of hosts. Here, the LORD of hosts (who obviously is Yahweh, Jehovah or the Almighty God) declared that He's going to send John, the Baptist ahead to prepare the way before Himself ( Matt. 3:3; Mark 1:3). Who else did John, the Baptist prepared the way for? It's no other person but Jesus. Therefore, Jesus is the LORD of hosts that spoke in Malachi 3:1. Furthermore, the concept of Trinity has been most misunderstood and consequently the most misrepresented topic in Christendom. This has been so counterproductive to our evangelistic efforts for ages. The fact that Trinity is about personalities and not literal three beings is very instructive. That means Trinity is about one Being operating in three different offices or roles in three different dispensations of human history. Thanks to Alisa and Cross Examined for this video. God bless.

Oooh so it was "justified genocide"... Remind me how your god isn't an authoritarian dictator when he orders the killing of every man, woman and child (including innocent infants)? Also, as soon as you made it look like "intelligent design" is a valid area of science, anyone who knows creationist talking points knows you have no idea what you're going on about regarding modern science... Lastly, to any Christians who read this, if you want to bring up the scientific "arguments" she gave at the end there with a non-believer who knows what they're talking about, please just don't, you're embarrassing yourself.
