As much as I criticise Youtube, they actually did me right during a legal dispute with a company that tried to take down one of my busted videos. Again on copyrght and trademark grounds. Youtube actually sent me the entire email exchange between them and the company as a courtesy to what was going on and how they denied their request to take down the video multiple times and tried to explain to them that it was covered under faiur use and they don't have a chance.

Q: "Why do people take an INSTANT dislike to lawyers?" A: "It saves time..." Oh, I know that some lawyers are lovely people, but many of them aren't; they'd rather earn fees from clients whom they know to be full of 🐂💩 than do the decent thing and tell them to duck off. (🦆)

Sorry to learn they are giving you some grief. Speaking as a soil scientist, I find their mystical/magical claims outrageous and very misleading. The reality is their machine is nothing more than an overpriced food dehydrator/shredder. It does nothing to accelerate decomposition. I've given a thumbs up + comment to every video that makes a point of this. Also left a detailed one-star review on Amazon. I encourage all like-minded people to do the same. This madness needs to stop! BTW, it you want to compost in a limited space, search for "vermicomposting." There's plenty of information on how to do this in five gallon buckets. It doesn't take much time or require any special tools. You can do it for free by asking restaurants for their discarded food-safe buckets.

So many comments on here about how the company is right and how you don't argue points in their letter make me laugh. You literally step through their claims in the letter (some timestamps are mixed up but it's still the same facts) The people who are willing to spend $500 for this device are the same ones who are wanting the US government to wipe out their student loan debt on a worthless overpriced "degree" We shall see, but I commented with links to both videos on their marketing videos. Let people see all sides and make their decision to purchase or not.

getting enough air into your compost pile will result in less CH4 and more CO2, also bad, but less so. however lignin under water does not decompose, so if we want to trap carbon forever, we need to grow lots of trees and sink the wood. which won't happen on any kind of scale that would make a difference

Just as I thought......if it seems to be too good to be true, it usually is not true. People in the world will buy into anything, especially if it puts them in the politically or environmentally correct side of things. Most won't do their homework and will fall for the latest greatest gimmicks. Gimmicks I might add that just contribute more to their carbon footprint, so they are actually taking steps back in doing their part for the environment. Get a composting bin and then add your scraps and some paper products to your yard or gardens soil, that's it and that easy. We don't need to be mining mother earth for more rare earth minerals to make automated composters that don't work and inevitably end up in the dump themselves. Kudo's to Thunderf00t!

Even composted, the food waste gives off the same amount of carbon it would by rotting in a landfill. It's a one-to-one system. Yes it would be better not to have giant landfills when we all could have little individual backyard landfills known as compost bins, and make use of the compost to grow flowers and vegetables, but the carbon release is still the same in the end. The carbon needed to create a compost bin run by solar power is far less that the carbon needed to build and run and manage and upkeep an electrical device in any case.

I am a practicing Lawyer and I can say I am extremely happy you posted the Lomi busted video because I was close to wasting money on one because of how they advertised their composter and the methods they used as you noted in your video. I love how you did your homework on the law and your rights. Sadly a lot of people do not understand the law or their rights so when they see a letter from a lawyer they quickly allow their rights to be infringed without even knowing they are being infringed.

I actually shared office space with Pela for months. They ran many many experiments in our kitchen and constantly stunk up the place. They at one time had energy figures released which had similar values to that of a small fridgerator and so was easy for me even to do the math in my head that this was costing more for the energy going in than the possible climate benefits... Be fun to discuss more of this with you and so refreshing to see someone actually looking at the science of these types of products meant to sell of and make tonnes of money exploiting our feelings to 'save the planet'

reminds me of those "air cleaning" machines they sell and where an engineer said in a video "no I would never use those at home they release ozone which smells nice but is a polluant who wants to pollute their interior" from personal experience I strongly discourage you from buying "cold water humidifier" the ones using vibration rather than the good old heating plate, what they do is atomize whatever crap and limestone is in your water and will spread it everywhere on everything and I mean everywhere...inside the fibers of clothes in closed drawers, inside your electronic apparels, on the lenses of your dvd or bluraplayer...you will also ingest that trash have it in your eyes etc..it's criminal that those are sold as they damage everything in your homes and your health when I realized why I had a grey smudge on everything I had to empty every room and clean everything even the ceiling it was e v e r y w h e r e, inside and outside
