I just wanted to say that I can only imagine what that pain felt like. My brother attempted to take his own life a year and a half ago and the pain from that alone was unimaginable (in some ways I still can't believe it was real/happened). To your point, the finality of life was truly a wake-up call for all of us during those moments my brother laid in the hospital hanging on to life. One of the toughest things for me was grappling with the guilt.. and even now. Something that I promised myself was that the things I'd do in life going forward would be something that speaks to my soul. It took me a long time to get to that point, so I'm glad you were able to get there sooner. Despite how tough it was, thank you for sharing. My heart is with your family and I'm sending my strength your way.
