<<@baltulielkungsgunarsmiezis9714 says : No, I dont want driverless cars to exist. I want car free cities to exist, connected by electrified railroads.>> <<@beargrylls235 says : I guess it's ADVERTASIUM now ;) Say goodbye to independent science channel...>> <<@tep954 says : Why does the guy filming show himself so much. I want to see the car interacting with other cars.>> <<@Avatar_andthe_Cat says : Update 4 years later: They're causing lots of accidents. 9x MORE than the average human driver.>> <<@qzman3900 says : Oh wow. Is this a corporate propaganda or educational video? Im confused...>> <<@bearlotk7608 says : Derek, do you consider this your most embarrassing moment? Like does it keep you up at night, remembering the day you sold your credibility? Just curious.>> <<@jackhibberd560 says : Sellout, such a shame was one of my favourite channels, sadly this’ll be my last>> <<@irnik9392 says : pure propaganda>> <<@otamisan says : so this is waymo propaganda. damnnn>> <<@Csklorenko says : this will be worse for the 100 million americans who make a living off of driving than uber was when it came out>> <<@Jorenov says : Blackrock paid content for sure>> <<@eating.mangoes says : the first sign of private equity getting this channel i guess.>> <<@LuckeeC14 says : The biggest problem with computer automation I believe is human interference (some human running into your autonomous vehicle). Best solution for that would be is lowering the amount of humans driving and add many more computers driving.>> <<@paullambert5843 says : I wonder if some of the resistance is due to a self driving car shouldn't be programmed to be able to speed or roll through a stop sign. Also, in the set of {1, 2, 2, 2}, 75% of the numbers are above the average. In the choice between 'significantly bad', 'fine', and 'significantly good', all the 'fine' people are probably above average so long as there are more bads than good.>> <<@hasibulhasan7330 says : 4 years and we are not ready yet. We are developing BS technologies rather than useful one. We are on an era of losing good feature with every update.>> <<@Fandam999-gu3fc says : aged like fine milk? nowdays all they do is cause traffic jams. Also why don't we make them a bit longer? and make them take multiple people; maybe sometimes even put on rails XD>> <<@SighDontWantAHandle says : Except they’re driven by remote control by drivers in the Philippines.>> <<@petit0renard says : This aged like milk ! Those cars are drove remotely by people in the Philippines.>> <<@sylviohache3467 says : Ive forgetten how non bias your channel was lol>> <<@AlexN2022 says : Wasn't Waymo found to have employed a call-center like setup of remote drivers to keep an eye on and intervene?>> <<@Quasar_ARB says : or, ya know, we could just build trains and walkable infrastructure instead of investing into something that will actively make all cities worse, just a thought>> <<@grantjoseph8050 says : Those cars are waiting to be hacked by software hackers!>> <<@grantjoseph8050 says : I wouldn't ride in that thing if you paid me a million dollars!>> <<@RichConnerGMN says : anyone else feeling filipino?>> <<@deluxejay69 says : Would love to see Derek try to backtrack out of this propaganda puff piece now that it's been revealed these things aren't even self driving, they're just remote control piloted by minimum wage, minimally-trained workers in the Philippines>> <<@yiftach_gross says : A new one now!!>> <<@SankaJayamina69 says : Its been 4 years , it feels crazy now 🤣🤣🤣>> <<@Thatguybruh-w2j says : China is a naysayer>> <<@Thatguybruh-w2j says : Why are you sharing with China>> <<@Thatguybruh-w2j says : Don't believe China! They no concept of engineering>> <<@DanielCáceres-g6n says : Just for fun: It's mathematically possible that 75% actually drives better than average. In fact any arbitrary number lower than 100%, lets say 99.99%, can mathematically be better than average. (about surveys commented by Derek in 8:18)>> <<@Vixeinn says : Avi is not going to be happy about this>> <<@jeremiahwitting-akiona3406 says : Yikes. Just lost all respect for Ve. Unsubscribed.>> <<@Justme-f7 says : Uber drivers, start thinking about your next career now!>> <<@JasonEisenberg81 says : They are not "fully autonomous" there are remote operators that intervene regularly.>> <<@ataarono says : This aged poorly>> <<@DustyRains says : If you take the Waymo out of its pre mapped zone it won’t drive you anywhere.>> <<@Walt882 says : Waymo will go bankrupt within 3 years.>> <<@martinhoogenraad4527 says : It is so true: about 15 yrs ago, i drastically changed my driving. No more speeding, no talegating, take more time and distance. Since than, i never ever had moments like "oeps, that was close!!" Never, because i keep distance and speed and you have wat more time to react. Since i drive Tesla Autopilot / FSD, it even got way better. The car sees so much more dan only my eyes, it's just way saver. So i will adopt FSD Europe as soon its approved and rolled out. I cannot wait.>> <<@2exyz says : Glad you got paid! Hope it was worth losing out confidence an being branded a shill for hire with no integrity. Unsubscribed.>> <<@ClaireGee-w5n says : why would you decide to hit one with helmet one without, driving you don't hit driver full left or right emergency stop>> <<@atticmusicgggg says : Cars are different from elevators, it has more broad impacts. Just like jaywalking is invented to get to a car eccentric city design, they'll have lanes for autonomous cars only, crashing a car or getting hit at a crosswalk will make you liable for not installing transponders, it can get dystopian very fast as large companies have more political power. It's not about "trusting the vehicle" itself, it's how policy will change after these companies are in control.>> <<@KhánhLương-c3o says : I appreciate the details you gave.>> <<@rambojohn272727 says : There is a bigger problem that no one is talking about with self driving, and that is the sheer amount of water and electricity that the data centers use to process all of the data self driving cars with LiDAR use. Data centers are already taking water away from agriculture and decreasing the total food supply, continuing to scale up will only make it worse. I saw an estimate that if LiDAR was in every car on the planet, it would take away so much water, it would equal a decrease of 6.5×10⁹ daily diets per day, and that would translate to about 98 million fatalities from starvation. The moral of the story is this, we humans are going to have to do some things ourselves.>> <<@NobodyXChallengerYT says : People just sought revenge on Waymos for killing a beloved bodega cat, so up yours, engineer>> <<@MontserratMoritzMayr says : That was very engaging.>> <<@JuliaFields-e1j says : This video is so well made.>> <<@kleeenco says : No.>> <<@kocerfules says : Such positive vibes here.>> <<@TRenoGuard3 says : We also get distracted because of accidents. Ever notice when there's a car accident traffic always slows down, not usually because the accident is in the way but because humans slow down to look>>
