I have stage 4 cancer. I am neither sad nor anxious. I am happy. Because i was lucky enough to have a life that led me in exactly the direction this clip describes. I have spent my career in service to things i believed in and refusing to do work or take up a life style that would make me miserable. The end result is an experience of clarity and joy and satisfaction i would hope everyone can feel some day. I lived my life, and am still living, in a way i know is useful and helpful. My life is full of love because i put it there. And that was multiplied many times over without my effort and just by the kindness and generosity of others. Yes, i struggled. No, material ease did not come until later, but, it came when i needed it. I did resist influences and stubbornly stood my ground about what i knew inside myself. Oddly enough such struggles, and even heartbreak, kept softening me. Now i know what the Sufis mean by making your heart as soft and light as carded wool.
