We also have the words matra, mantra, tantra, sutra, jusutra, nitra, yantra, etc. but the meanings are directly in our Maninka language & different from Sanskrit language. The umlaut ( ö ) is the perfect way to pronounce the middle syllable and combines both versions quite nicely. If you chant it correctly, you will feel all three syllables in the middle of your head and eventually, if your diet is decent, chanting this way will open your third eye up. It feels kinda like all the sounds in your head reverb more and your awareness is expanded in a strange way. Thank you for clarifying this, Sadhguru. 😊❤️🙏🏻>> <<@reneevaradaraj7040 says : My guru said Om & Aum are correct but for different purposes.>> <<@SriranganathHosur says : Om is written in Devanagari script (which many languages in India follow).. Silence, signifies the Void, the Sourse. A, signifies the grosses matter. U, signifies the medium gross matter. M, signifies suble matter, the spirit. Matter is the gross form of spirit. (...)" with the silent final as important as the others. 7 letters for 7 chakras respectively: "A" associated with the Root Chakra (Muladhara Chakra); "E" associated with the sacral plexus chakra (Svadishana Chakra); "I" associated with the Solar Plexus Chakra (Manipura Chakra); "Y" associated with the heart chakra (Anahata Chakra); "O" associated with the Throat/Speech Chakra (Vishudda Chakra); "U" associated with the third eye chakra (Ajna Chakra); "M" associated with the Crown Chakra (Sahasrara chakra); "..." (the silence) associated with the alignment of all the main 7 chakras... obviously I certainly cannot blame Sadhguru who at least tries to explain complex practices and meanings to millions and millions of people, who often don't even have a minimal smattering of Yoga and esotericism in general, however it is good to be precise and say that actually the letters and i y o are made passive by the continuity of the sound and the frequency between the phoneme a and the phoneme u therefore on a superficial level the sound AUM is valid but digging deeper the true sound is.
